WKU Disaster Science Operation Center awarded $42,000 AT&T grant to improve severe weather response

The WKU Disaster Science Operation Center received a $42,000 grant from AT&T as part of its Climate Resistance Communities Initiative. Through the grant, the Barren River Area Development District is one of five communities nationwide that was selected to join the CRCI as a way to improve climate resistance efforts. The initiative equips the community with regional climate data, allowing them to anticipate environmental hazards

VSIP participants reflect on life and time on the Hill

As many faculty and staff retire early due to WKU’s Voluntary Separation Incentive Program (VSIP), the closing of the semester brings reflection on the past and excitement for the future.

Three years after its initial implementation, the 2024 VSIP, announced on Sep 3, offered 388 potential faculty and staff members the option to retire early while still receiving a year ’ s worth of salary. All 57 employeeswho applied were accepted into the program.

WKU Football accepts Boca Raton Bowl invitation

WKU Football accepted an invitation Saturday to play in the Boca Raton Bowl against the James Madison Dukes.

The Boca Raton Bowl will be WKU’s sixth consecutive bowl game appearance and the program ’ s 11th since 2012 The Hilltoppers are 2-0 in the Boca Raton Bowl, with wins in 2016 and 2021.
