LETTER from the EDITORS HOME & HISTORY
Brothers, To close out 2018, we’re seeing both the return of brothers who have spent time away and the simultaneous change of command that happens at the end of each fall semester. As we move into 2019, we end the previous year on a positive note for building relationships between brothers (both undergraduate and graduate), a trend built through both happy interactions and tests of durability on the part of our chapter as we both mold and stand firm in our tradition of upholding and expecting excellence. In this short concluding issue, you’ll find a brief note and series of photos from our 2018 WKU Homecoming weekend, one of our most-attended in recent Chi Eta history. You’ll also find an introduction to our newest Cabinet, which takes its seat following the ending term of a previous Cabinet consisting of predominantly seniors. We look forward to starting 2019 with continued efforts at documenting all the things about which Chi Eta can be proud. Your editors,
THOMAS DEATON Publications Chair

Announced back in August of 2018, the theme for WKU Homecoming was “To the Hill and Beyond,” selected by a committee of WKU alumni, students and staff. By drawing, Chi Eta was paired with Delta Zeta sorority for the week’s activities, culminating in the homecoming parade’s presentation of floats. The pairing spent the week crafting a float that included favorite Toy Story characters.

The team was led by Chi Eta homecoming chair Tyler Kirby (‘21), with special thanks the Harvey family [brothers Grant (‘20) and Cade (‘22)] for hosting the pair at a float site. “I’m so proud of everyone and their hard work,” Kirby said to the fraternity at the conclusion of the parade. Kirby only regrets that the rainy day made it difficult to fully protect the float. “It’s too bad we couldn’t protect it better than we did,” added Kirby, “but we put together a great float.” The Harvey family contributed to the success of our Homecoming tailgate, hosted by graduate relations chair Andrew Merritt (‘21), by preparing a crawfish boil that even WKU President Tim Caboni, a Louisiana native, was excited to hear about. Merritt was pleased to see the large amount of graduate brothers in attendance, and many indicated it to be the largest Homecoming tailgate attendance in recent chapter history. Chi Eta looks forward to hosting everyone again WKU Homecoming 2019, and expects the newest theme to be revealed next August. 9
