Ronna Zaidman often needs oxygen for her COPD and asthma, but she still enjoys taking her grandkids to Peoria to shop, thanks to CountyLink. “It makes a difference,” said Zaidman, who also has cataracts and can’t drive. “It’s kept me from being stuck in Brimfield. “They come to your door and take you where you’re going,” she continued. “It’s a life saver.” About 8 miles east, between Oak Hill and Edwards, Betty Delegman talks about her 28-year-old disabled daughter Marta using CountyLink to get to PARC on weekdays. “Without it, I don’t think she could go,” Delegman said. “I’d have to keep her home.” Delegman and Zaidman are two of hundreds of rural Peoria County residents who regularly use CountyLink, which this week marked the first anniversary of operating the rural transit service.
