ABOUT ME
Minna Niger state born based in Abuja Joseph Mamman, a multidisciplinary artist, has revolutionized the creative community with a unique unconventional technique: the use of lines and symbols that interpret different meaning inbetween the lines that are translated as scars of life far from being just a portrait, he is able to transform his art into a powerful tool that imparts exceptional and vital creativity. Josephs ability to fuse other materials and techniques to create as well as sculpting with foil paper and making handcrafted jewelries and beaded curtains to enhance Afrocentric aesthetics with his personal experiences, creating works that flow with his artistic vision.
Joeph’s journey began early at the age of 6 attempting art competitions and being challenged by peers dating back in 1996,he reimagined in different artistic medium and specialized in a style he calls distorted realism, in this series he brought to life iconic images that explores the identity of both foreign and cultural individuals who have contributed to the world in different ways highlighting there policy, solidifying his position in the art world he founded a community movement called art not drugs (AND)initiative to help prevent wasteful life and substance abuse that will shape generations to come, of which 15% is committed to the project from the sales of art..
in 1998 he was part of a local TV show for kids with talent and creativity it was an impactful experience boosting his participation in an Educational trust fund competition and came 1st in sketching and 3rd in painting in the country in the year 2006.
Also volunteered on a recycled project with a team of likeminded individuals in 2022 creating sculptures from using waste resources towards the world recycling day that was organized by an NGO.
