FINANCIAL AID

The Financial Aid and Scholarships office offers bursaries and scholarships based on academic merit to assist students with financing their studies as well as administers funds on behalf of donors and sponsors.

The University of the Witwatersrand offers several scholarships for undergraduate students. Most of these Scholarships are based on academic merit. Financial Aid (bursaries/loans) from the University is not available to international undergraduate students. When considering postgraduate studies you need to assess realistically your potential sources of funding for fees and living expenses (full-time students). As you are aware, there is strong competition for scholarship merit awards for students.
