The Club has benefited from the goodwill of volunteers, their commitment never fails to amaze me; their passion, positivity, and sheer hard work that they put in, all of which is done to ensurethatallourmembersgetthebestexperience.Thereare waytoomanytoname, butyouknowwhoyouare.Thankyou all.

Sponsors play a crucial role in the running of the club and I’d like to thank our sponsors and all of our partners. Despite the challenging times they have remained committed to us and helped us provide the best facilities and experience to all our members. We could not survive without this support. If you would like to get involved and have your company brand and profile boosted through sponsorship and our social media programme, thenpleasecontactJohnWilliams.

Today we welcome Gosford All Blacks to Hailey Road, no strangersheresowelcomeoneandall.

Founded in May 1956 the Club has a rich history and regularly contributestothrillingencountersbothhereandattheirhome ground at Stratfield Brake. Last season they managed to pip Witney II to third place in the league and have begun this season’s campaign with a bonus point win against Chipping Norton. Running in 5 tries, two from Man of the Match Dan Hughes, obviously one to watch. They eventually secured the winat34–28.YouwillfindtheWitneyIIsteamsheetfurtheron intheprogramme.

Our Firsts and Thirds are on the road this weekend, to Stow on the Wold and Bicester respectively. Stow finished 2nd in their league last year but succumbed at home to Drybrook on the season’s opener, going down 17 – 40 at home. Let’s hope Witney can inflict some more of the same, good luck to both Teams.

Our Thirds run out against Bicester IIs. Counties III is already showing signs of strain with Bicester II’s game last week being declared a home win as Grove II failed to field a side. Harwell alsofailedtoturnoutagainstBuckinghamandsotheleagueis already under stress. The fact that Witney regularly turn out 3 adultmen’steamsaswellastheAngelsandalltheagegroups issomethingtobeveryproudof.

Witney Can Do Magic! Join The Witney Wizards

Witney RFC Walking Rugby.

The Witney Wizards is a group of older players, some with no previous rugby playing experience, all with one aim, to enjoy some fitness in a happy, social environment. We train once a week on Thursday evenings. Skills sessions, tactics, and competitive games, followed by a Supper Club and a social drink in our Hailey Road Clubhouse.

The Wizards welcome people of all ages and backgrounds; we do have female players but could always do with more.

The Wizards have played competitive matches at home and away, always draws a big crowd and above all else, is always fun. Think this is for you, why not come along and give it a Try!
