“A Brush With Nature” Exhibition Statement Wisconsin Visual Artists (WVA) was established in 1900 as the first professional association of artists in Wisconsin. For over 120 years, WVA has offered an educational, supportive, and connective force for Wisconsin artists. We provide monthly meetings, exhibition opportunities, publications, and arts advocacy. WVA is a nonprofit 501(C3) run by artists for artists, dedicated to the well-being and fair treatment of artists. The South Central chapter of WVA, with over 140 members, meets monthly for speakers, business, and critiques. One of our goals is to partner with local venues to support and promote our members via exhibitions. This exhibition of the South Central Chapter of WVA is a juried selection of current members’ artwork titled “A Brush with Nature.” As artists, we are called to share our vision of the world, and this collection of work is inspired by and celebrates the natural world of Wisconsin. The work is both literal and abstract but speaks to connections with nature inspired by time in the natural world.
