The Prism concert which was held this past weekend is the biggest music concert held at WLHS. It which showcases the talents of a variety of musicians and singers. Everyone works incredibly hard concert. Unlike other concerts, the Prism concert takes place in the main gym, which creates a livelier atmosphere than the more formal concerts held in the auditorium. The performers and instrumentalists are arranged around the audience, who sits in the center of the gym. The whole vibe is more like a festival or a party.
There were four performances with different solos and small groups performing each time. Students auditioned for the opportunity to be part of the show because there were limited spots available for students to showcase their talents. Prior to the concert, students created posters to help transform the gym into a vibrant performance space. Each poster represented a song that was performed at the concert. Additionally, students spent hours practicing music pieces or short dances for their solo or small group performances. They dedicated time and effort to make the performances the best they could be. This event is particularly meaningful, as it allows all musicians to share joy and happiness through music. May 2025

GLIMPSES OF PRISM
Farewell
(continued from page 1)
When I first heard about Prism, I thought it would be just another formal concert, but I soon realized it’s THE last concert of the year. As the date approached, I receive more information, which heightened my excitement and motivated me to work hard to create quality music. This concert isn’t merely the final performance of the year; it’s an opportunity for us to showcase the dedication and growth we’ve achieved throughout the year. It reflects our progress in music, both individually and as a cohesive group. Coming together as one big ensemble to perform a single piece makes this experience especially meaningful for the musicians and singers. “Thanks to everyone who attended the shows! We loved sharing our hard work and passion with the audience. We hope it created lasting memories for everyone involved!”
to Seniors
by Hope Larabee
In God’s word it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!” As the seniors approach the end of their final days at Wisco, they realize that they might not have the chance to attend chapel every day. They want to let their light shine and remember everything that their pastors and teachers have taught them. The reality is that after high school sharing the good news gets harder, and the devil sees an opportunity to come after those who are graduating and tempt them. They will no longer be surrounded by other Christians, and not everyone believes in God.
Yet they do not go out alone into the world. Jesus says, “And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” The Savior of the world goes out with each and every one of the seniors. He will keep them on His path and show them opportunities to let their light shine. He will guard their hearts from sin, so that they remain in Him. Jesus loves each of us and wants us as his children. So, go to church, pray, get involved in your church or with the ministry at the college you attend. Stay in the Word. While it is both exciting and sad for the seniors to graduate, they can rest assured that God will hold them in the palm of His hands.

The Cinderella Project
By Zuzu Eft
The Cinderella Project was started in 2009 to help girls in the Milwaukee area find prom dresses without the extra financial burden. Volunteers serve as the girls’ “fairy godmothers,” who help them find their perfect dresses for the occasion. All items are given by generous donors that want the girls to look and feel good on their special day. Donations are accepted every Friday in February and March, and volunteers are needed. Consider helping out for prom 2026!
What is Veganism?
By Elizabeth Scherzberg
First let's start off with the question “What is veganism?” Veganism is a diet that excludes animal products such as meat, milk, and honey. It is also a lifestyle that tries to minimize animal cruelty and exploitation by avoiding certain products or brands. When we look at the diet and health of vegans we can see that some vegans receive more fiber, vitamins, and magnesium than a normal person. Although some vegans don't receive the proper amount of nutrients because they don't have well balanced meals, many vegans take supplements to receive the proper nutrients.

A Minecraft Movie
By Jeraniha Gilbert
Everyone’s favorite building game just got a movie adaption: Minecraft! In this game you mine and craft weapons to attack others, and you can level up by beating powerful entities. Being a popular game worldwide, this comedy/adventure movie has been on everybody’s mind.
The movie (rated PG) starts off with famous actor Jack Black playing Steve, the original male character. In this flashback, it shows how Steve and his dog faced up against the main antagonist Malgosha, a pig who ruled the Nethers, a place of fiery evil. Steve was then taken captive with his only hope, his dog, going to get help.
The main plot starts when a mysterious portal pulls Garrett, Henry, Natalie, and Dawn into the Minecraft world. To get back home, they have to work with each other and with Steve.
A Minecraft Movie is a decent movie, especially if you are Minecraft fan. It has some parts that are pretty funny and the CGI is impressive. Jack Black and Jason Momoa both do a great job acting, as is usual for them. While the story is a bit predictable and lacks depth, it’s overall a fun movie that many people will enjoy.
The audience is introduced to one of the main characters, Jason Momoa, starring as Garrett Garrison a.k.a The Garbage Man. He portrays a middle aged man owning a rundown video game store. Also in this movie is actor Sebastian Eugene Hansen starring as Henry, a bright and brilliant kid who struggles to make friends. He is the younger brother of Natalie, played by actress Emma Myers. With their mom dead, and the father nowhere to be found, Natalie has to step up and play both the older sister and the parent role. Dawn, played by Danielle Brooks, is the kind neighbor of the siblings.
Tornadoes
By Terry Cai
Nature is interesting. It can give us magnificence and beautiful scenery, but it also has the ability to give us natural disasters and destruction. As one of the most destructive natural disasters of all, tornados have definitely made their mark on human history. However, what’s the mechanism behind such a powerful natural phenomena?
Tornadoes are quickly spinning columns of air that form inside storms and stretch down to the ground like a funnel. Almost every tornado begins with a powerful thunderstorm called a supercell, which brings strong winds, heavy rain, and sometimes hail or lightning. These storms happen when warm, wet air from near the ground rises and crashes into cold, dry air
from higher up. That clash causes the air to start twisting. If winds at different heights are blowing in different directions or speeds, the spin becomes stronger and tighter, eventually forming a vertical column. When that column
Because of the frequent interaction between warm, moist air from the Gulf of Mexico and cold, dry air from Canada, which, as introduced before, heavily supports the formation of tornadoes, the regions in central United States have historically been a heavy victim of tornadoes. These regions are called “Tornado Alley,” which generally ranges from Texas and Oklahoma in the south to South Dakota and Missouri in the north. Some would even enlarge the “alley” to include Michigan and southern Canada. This term was first used by U.S. Air Force meteorologists Major Ernest J. Fawbush and Captain Robert C. Miller. What’s sad is that despite the frequent destruction done by the tornados, governments of the area do not have strict laws demanding for stronger buildings and public utilities. This causes the areas in the tornado alley to suffer heavy losses when tornados hit. The worst tornado in U.S. history was the Tri-State Tornado which happened on March 18, 1925. It swept through Missouri, Illinois, and Indiana, causing over 2,700 casualties, and damaged more than 15,000 houses. After adjusting for inflation, the property damage caused

How can we protect ourselves when a tornado hits?
1. Immediately go to a safe shelter--this could be a basement or a small interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building.
2. Stay away from windows, doors, and outside walls.
3. Cover your head with your hands or use blankets and pillows to shield yourself from flying debris.
4. If outdoors, find shelter in a ditch or ravine, and lie flat and protect your head.
**There’s an old saying that we should open our windows when there’s a tornado; however, this is false because keeping the atmospheric pressure inside the house the same as the tornado outside will not help you save your house. It’s the wind that destroys your house, not the difference in atmospheric pressure!**
