One of the great, contemporary, multi-talented performers of the day is en route to Miami Beach. Billy Porter takes to the stage at the Colony Theatre on March 20 and 21 at 8 p.m.
Porter is currently on hiatus from his starring role as "Lola" in the smash hit Broadway musical Kinky Boots, for which he won the 2013 Drama Desk and Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical. Other Broadway acting credits include Miss Saigon, Five Guys Named Moe, Grease (all original cast), Smokey Joe’s Café and Dreamgirls (20th Anniversary Broadway Concert and LA Ovation Award). As a director, Porter has directed A Colored Museum that can be seen at the Huntington Theater, in Boston, from March 6 to April 6, 2015. He also directed a critically acclaimed recreation of The Wiz and conceived a musical revue entitled Signed, Sealed, Delivered: The Music of Stevie Wonder, which starred Chaka Khan and ran at The Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas in the spring of 2002.
