THE REBIRTH OF RITA ORA he pages of Greek mythology are littered with all kinds of mysterious creatures; some were meant as warnings to scare us humans into making better choices, others inspire us to rise above in the face of hardships. One of the most recognizable icons of the genre is the Phoenix. As the story goes, the Phoenix was a magical bird that would die in a ball of flames only to be reborn from its own ashes. So it should be no surprise that Rita Ora chose the winged wonder as her muse for a long-awaited rebirth.

Rita first took flight on the airwaves in 2012 with her acclaimed debut album Ora featuring "R.I.P." (with Tinie Tempah), "Shine Ya Light" and her breakout hit "How We Do (Party)." A couple of years later, she released two new independent tracks, "I Will Never Let You Down," which debuted at No.1, and Iggy Azalea's "Black Widow," where she was the featured artist. The British singer's career seemed to be gaining momentum, until a lawsuit against her label brought it all to a dead stop, like I-95 on a Monday morning‌ or afternoon or evening. Years of legal combat left Rita's career in a holding pattern until both parties finally agreed to settle and go their separate ways in 2016. round, she's joined by other music juggernauts like Liam Payne, Charli XCX, Bebe Rexha, Cardi B, Rudimental, Julia Michaels and the legendary Avicii (RIP).

From start to finish Phoenix burns a light on Ora from every angle, giving her the well-deserved spotlight we've all been dying to see her command for the last six years. From the anthemic lead single "Let You Love Me," to the Latin-tinged "Falling To Pieces" to the jazzy "Velvet Rope" she's nothing less than mesmerizing. The set wraps up perfectly with its inspirational crown jewel "Soul Survivor" proving that she is finally ready to soar. "For me, it's the most honest I've ever been with myself, let alone my fans," she explained. "This was the moment I said 'I want to talk about being a survivor' because I don't think anybody went through what I went through with such powerful individuals in the industry, sacrificing maybe being blacklisted forever because of the moves I had to make to survive. I felt like that was an inspiring story. Without this song, I probably would never have believed in myself."

K, so Cleveland, Ohio, might not make your list of intended vacation destination anytime soon.

That's understandable. Even the two-time favored son of the city really only put in a couple of brief obligatory visits. Yes, I am looking at you LeBron.

However, one never knows what the future holds. Whether you're traveling through Ohio, attending a convention or just in the vicinity and want to see what the much-maligned city really has to offer, Cleveland has enough going for it to be worth a visit.

First, a few things that might surprise you about Cleveland. For a "rust belt" city, it is remarkably green, particularly downtown. It has more golf options per capita than most cities. It's arts and culture community is one of the largest in the nation. And, despite the trends of most similar cities in the region, it's population has actually grown since the losses of the nation's late industrial era.

So, what are the must-dos in Cleveland? Well, topping the list is the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, a musical mecca, a site which every music lover simply must visit at least once in his life. History, memorabilia... there is nothing quite like it.

A little quirkier, movie fans have to make a stop by the "Christmas Story House" in the Tremont neighborhood. A developer purchased and then restored it to an accurate portrayal (both inside and out) of the house in the movie.

The Cleveland Museum of Art is just one of the numerous museums and galleries that call Cleveland home. A regional cultural hub, Cleveland gets more than its share of high-end traveling exhibits and shows.

Tremont has the greatest concentrations of galleries in the city, as well as new theaters, cafes and popular dining spots. The city's professionals and artists alike are drawn to living in this neighborhood and

are frequently out in the evenings. Coventry Village is the neighborhood to go to for a real metropolitan experience. Visitors can shop locally-sourced food, antique shops and plenty of retail locations for unique additions to every wardrobe.

Dining will surprise you in Cleveland. It isn't just midwestern carbs. There's a pride in the culinary community as the scene has improved. As with nightlife venues, check local press and guides or leads – things can change fast. Blue Point Grille, Alley Cat Oyster Bar, and Michael Symon's B Spot will impress.

Innovation is encouraged in this community though, so keep your ears open and eye on the local foodie flocks.

Cleveland Botanical Garden is worth a stop as is the Cleveland History Museum or Cedar Point Amusement Park, the Greater Cleveland Aquarium, natural history museum, excellent Museum of Contemporary Art, and Children's Museum of Cleveland if you are traveling with kids. Make no mistake, Cleveland has terrific arts and culture. Parks in the city are quite nice, and remember the very nice downtown rises where the Cuyahoga River intersects the southern shore of Lake Erie. With temperate weather, outdoors Cleveland has plenty of sporting opportunities in lovely settings.

Things are much better in Cleveland than the spiteful press would make you think. Great museums and culture, good food, pretty places. Shoot, the Browns drafted a Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback and have started winning the occasional game. What's not to encourage optimism?

Cleveland is very neighborhood-y, so if you have time to explore their distinction, great.

Stay downtown though – the major attractions are spread out through a major metro with a sprawl that may surprise you. The Renaissance Clevelandand and Metropolitan at the 9 are eclectic in a good way and most major flagships are represented well here.
