In a disgusting expression of his true beliefs – without reading remarks drafted by his staff from a teleprompter – Trump clearly stated what he really thought about the neo-nazi white supremacists marching with lit torches in Charlottesville. In an unequivocal display of tolerance for bigotry and hate, the president made the most absurd and repulsive statements of his presidency – rather than doing what he should have done and condemn in no uncertain terms the actions and statements by neo-nazi white supremacists and the murderous terrorist attack with a car by one of their own.

The statements and actions by the president in the lobby Trump Tower can only signal the beginning of the end of his presidency. This man has managed to alienate everyone a president needs to work with to do his job. Through his insults and unprovoked attacks of the intelligence community, the press, former aides, senior senators on both sides of the aisle, and on and on, Trump has no allies or support left to govern. Instead, his actions have paved the way for countless people to have it out for him and look for payback in any way they can. Trump and his family stand no chance from the results of the investigation by former FBI director Robert Mueller. There is a legion of people from all walks of life lining up to provide any and all evidence director Mueller could possibly find against Trump, his family and his associates.

Serious times for serious contemplation doesn't mean our enjoyment of life should come to an end. Merging fashion and function, a pair of design houses are bringing menswear looks that have garnered a following from the LGBTQ community.

Parke & Ronen and Addicted each offer a distinct look and feel, yet both also offer practicality and, well, pretty in the same package. In this week's cover story, Wire Magazine has a look at the approach and themes of the two design houses and offers a look at some of the hot looks – on even hotter models. on't judge French Canadians by the occasional confused driver in the winter in South Florida or by the periodic arguments over tipping you might overhear (only half in English) at restaurants during the prime Early Bird hours.

Today, Montréal openly markets its distinct Gay Village, or "Le Village Gai" to the city's predominantly francophone population. Here is the highest concentration of gay-oriented establishments, although one would be challenged to find a section of Canada's second-largest city where there wasn't some kind of appeal... official or not. In the "Village," scores of bars, clubs, shops and restaurants catering to the LGBTQ community have been thriving for decades stretch of Saint Catherine Street (or Rue Sainte-Catherine) between Berri and Papineau Streets.

To only visit Montréal for its bars and clubs is to miss the essence of the community and of the liberation enjoyed by gays and lesbians.

Gay-oriented festivals abound. During the Aires Libres art event from May to September, a 12-block stretch of Saint Catherine between Saint Hubert and Papineau is closed to traffic and transformed into a pedestrian-only zone – several hundred thousand little pink balls strung over the streets is a clue to the theme.

There is also the annual Black and Blue Festival in October and one of the great Pride events anywhere on the world.

Hot spots can change rapidly, so keep an eye on local nightlife media. But some of the major don't-miss venues include Le Stud for the leather crowd, Circus and Stereo – both of which attract mixed crowds but are also world-class music venues, Cabaret Mado, Sky and others.

Fine accommodations can be found citywide, with Hôtel Le Cantlie Suites and Hôtel de l'ITHQ among the preferred.

Soaking up ubiquitous French culture in a longtime LGBTQ-friendly environment not far from home might be a lot to enjoy, but try not to pilot your rental car on those friendly streets in slow motion with your turn signal constantly on. Now that's just rude.
