PUBLISHER'S CORNER ACTIONS SPEAK MUCH LOUDER THAN TELEPROMPTER WORDS On Tuesday night I watched Donald Trump deliver his State of the Union Address because his actions and policies impact our lives. Trump effectively read a speech that was clearly written for him by staffers and might have fooled me, but for the fact that I have spent a whole year listening to Trump’s own words and reading them on Twitter. I have also paid close attention to his actions and to the implementation of his policies. My parents taught me at an early age to tell the truth. They also educated me that actions speak much louder than words. Trump’s parents either did not teach him that, or he simply chose to disregard those teachings and continues to do so to this day. The speech Trump read on Tuesday night is not going to dupe me, or most people for that matter. I know what Trump is truly about because he has demonstrated it for an entire year. I also know that an obtuse 71-year-old man is not going to change. House Speaker Paul Ryan, sitting right behind Trump during the State of the Union speech, knows that as well – just like Ryan knew what Trump was like when he refused to endorse him during the campaign. Tuesday’s Trump is the same man Ryan disliked so much then, and only pretends to like now because politics sometimes leads people to display the highest levels of hypocrisy you will ever witness in your life. What our nation needs and deserves is not a man who can read a speech from a teleprompter, only to go back to insulting and bullying people in a few days, while lying to us that the orange we see before our very eyes is an apple. We can hear with our own ears and see with our own eyeballs that it is an orange. It is high time that the people of this nation stand up against the demagogy of Trump and his lack of leadership. The voters of this country need to come together and send a clear message in the next election to show their utter disdain for the current inhabitant of the White House. The values and principles which our great republic was founded on are not those of Donald Trump and will never be. Tuesday night’s speech was full of the same empty promises which led some people to believe that Mexico would pay for a huge, beautiful wall, only to realize that repeating such falsehood over and over was just a mendacity now replaced with a demand that Congress approve 25 billion U.S. taxpayer dollars to pay for a wall Trump said over and over he would make Mexico pay for. Please Mr. Trump, stop trying to fool us with a well read speech. It will never work because you can’t help yourself, and we all know that in a day or two you will be back to speaking and Tweeting what’s truly in your heart. We live in the greatest country in the world and our national nightmare will come to an end at the end of Trump’s first term in office, or sooner if special counsel Robert Mueller determines during his investigation that Trump committed one or more Nixonian impeachable offenses. LIKE NEW YORK, BUT...
ou've probably heard at least a couple of comparisons. It's like New York, but clean. Or it's like New York, but run by the Swiss. It's Toronto, Ontario, and for many it does bear resemblance to Gotham. But even with around six million people in its census metropolitan area (CMA), one can't help but notice the cleanliness, order, friendliness of the people and lack of the big-city menace some feel facing New York for the first time.
Many begin their exploration of Toronto right at the top. Looming over the city is the CN Tower, the tallest freestanding structure in the Western Hemisphere, which stands out even juxtaposed against the gleaming skyscrapers of downtown Toronto. Downtown offers much while visitors try to capture the modern architecture in panoramic mode. The shopping center CF Toronto Eton Centre is here, as are the respected Art Gallery of Toronto and Royal Ontario Museum, Hockey Hall of Fame, and more. Within easy distance are Toronto's Chinatown, historic Kensington Market, the hip restaurants, boutiques and galleries along Queen Street West, and the Distillery District, an old industrial zone from the 19th century now home to galleries and boutiques.

Comparisons to NYC might be trite by now, but they are hard to avoid – for all the right reasons. Cosmopolitan, diverse, rich in culture and world-class shopping, defined by spectacular architecture and can't-miss attractions, the largest city in Canada can wear its comparable mantle with pride given it has an identity all its own as well.
Traveling throughout the city brings visitors to some other must-see sites. The Toronto Zoo is immense and includes a significant botanical section and Ripley's Aquarium of Canada is expansive and unforgettable. Casa Loma certainly stands out among the modern architecture. The grand 18th century castle is gorgeous and offers regular tours and seasonal gardens. Some might be surprised at just how green Toronto is, but careful attention has been paid to parks here. High Park with its walking trails, zoo and well-manicured greens is a relaxing spot for many. Fort York conjures up the history of the War of 1812 and the Toronto Islands, south of the mainland, feature a lighthouse, beach and kayaking. But you will find green spaces large and small near wherever you choose to stay. Accommodations in Toronto are abundant throughout the city and across a broad range as you'd expect of a city so often compared to the Big Apple. From modest independents and chains to the luxurious Ritz-Carlton Toronto and Four Seasons Hotel Toronto to the lovely and well-regarded Hazelton Hotel, travelers really can set a budget and stick to it. That budgeting scheme might be well worth considering. Outside the scope of the city and its architectural magnificence, the spectacular dining and shopping of Toronto are most comparable to those of New York. Scaramouche Restaurant and GEORGE Restaurant offer unforgettable fine dining while Richmond Station and Rodney's Oyster House focus on local fare. However, you will find fine examples of countless ethnic cuisines and specialties throughout the city.
Toronto might not get the attention that New York City does, as a destination overall or for gay travelers. But all of those comparisons are only slight exaggerations, if they are at all. Toronto is distinct in countless ways, while at the same time still coming across as like New York, but...

TOVE LO STAYS HIGH s a man, I don't think there's anything more physically excruciating than a bad case of "blue balls." For any females reading this, that's basically what happens when we get all worked up sexually only to be cut short before we're able to let our horses out of the stable, if you know what I mean. Up until now I figured this was one of those phenomena that only those of us with a Y chromosome could understand, like peeing while standing up or ghosting after the first date. As it turns out, there are some women out there who do feel our pain, or at least one does. Blue Lips is the sexy new album by Grammy-nominee Tove Lo, and I'm pretty sure the title isn't referring to make-up tips. It's also a continuation of her previous set, the highly acclaimed Lady Wood. I'm starting to sense a pattern here.

This week, we bring you an update about Sergey and his career with new photos by renowned photographer David Vance. Rafa Carvajal: For those who missed our last interview, tell us about yourself. Sergey Boytcov: I performed in the "Men's Physique" category, and I'm now the Russian Men's Physique Champion of Moscow. I'll change it for the "Men's Fitness" champion this year. RC: How have you evolved as a model and person since we last spoke in 2016? SB: I visited more countries in 2017 – Spain, Italy and America. I was invited to shoot for Harper's Bazaar U.S. in 2018. My career is obviously growing. Thank you for this question! RC: What do you currently do for work? SB: I train, study, and develop myself as a person. I also spend time with my family and attend various activities. RC: What do you enjoy doing for fun? SB: I have very little fun in my life. I train a lot and devote myself to work and family – the most important things for me. When I have fun, I lose myself.

RC: What inspires you most, and why? SB: Work, family and individuality. My motivations are my progress and goals. Thank you! After all, you are a part of my motivation. RC: What is the most important tip you would give someone who wants to get in shape? SB: The main thing is consistency. Training, regime and faith. Have faith in yourself and your goals, and everything will be great. RC: What do you enjoy the most about modeling for photography? SB: Looking at my photos when they turn out well, ha-ha. RC: What have been your favorite locations to shoot, and why? SB: Dubai, Ibiza and Italy because in these places some of my dreams came true. To make a photo like Van Damme, and to drive a Lamborghini and McLaren. I worked in the afternoon and at night. It was the heaviest shooting... yet my favorite. RC: What is the one place in the world you love to visit, and why? SB: America, where I discovered a new world, job, and view of life. RC: How is it working on a photo shoot with David Vance? SB: It was an amazing experience shooting with David Vance. We shot for seven hours without interruption. David has a great heart and I was very happy to meet him again. Each one of us have teachers in life, people who give

us emotions for life. It's like the first time you have sex, I will remember it forever. We worked together two years ago. Then came the cover of Wire Magazine and a book in Florida, which I saw for the first time today. Even then, this man taught me how to work, discovered many nuances, and showed me how to do it. He showed me that such sincere, creative work has a full return. David, thank you for being so professional in your work and paying attention to all the little things – it means a lot. Thank you for becoming a teacher, as a parent does in school, only in the modeling business. I'm happy that I spent a day working with you, and that fate brought us together again.
