Since 1993 Winter Party has attracted crowds of gorgeous men to the sands of
Miami Beach for the infamous Beach Party and all the festivities that
surround it. SAVE (the predecessor of SAVE Dade), an organization that was
formed to support the LGBT community and fight discrimination, organized
that first Winter Party, which put them on the map as one of the premier
organizations in the fight for human rights in Florida. The Dade Human
Rights Foundation produced the event until 2003 and then the National Gay
and Lesbian Task Force took control of producing the Winter Party Festival
and its sister event, the Miami Recognition Dinner, with the pledge that two
thirds of the proceeds from both events would stay in South Florida.
