In our last edition, we had shared that The Winchester School Jebel Ali is now home to one of the fifty Ghaf trees which were given out by The National newspaper to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of the UAE. The Ghaf seeds were planted with the joint effort of students from FS1 to Year 13 and the WIN Senior Leadership Team on the 21st of March, 2022, in honour of the International Day of Forests.

And we’ve got some news for you!

After a school-wide poll, our Winchester Ghaf Tree now has a name Amal

Amal, the Winchester Ghaf, got featured in The National! Here are some snippets!

“The ghaf tree symbolises so much about what the UAE stands for so it was great to see the whole school community get behind this project. We’re looking forward to watching it grow taller and taller — and it shows you can grow stronger despite whatever severity comes. It symbolises what we have been through in recent years and how we can survive with a positive energy in life.”
