Hope Probe Reaches the Red Planet
On the 9th of February, history was made when UAE became the first Arab nation and the 5th nation in the world to reach Mars after the Hope Probe successfully entered the orbit of Mars, the Red Planet. The country erupted into jubilant celebrations to mark this glorious occasion. Here are some facts about this 1350kg wonder which has brought pride and unlimited happiness to the entire Arab region.

The Mars Mission was announced by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on July 16, 2014. The cost to build the Hope Probe was $200 million, which is the lowest in the world to build a space probe.
200 Emirati engineers worked to develop the Hope Probe.
The Hope Probe was launched on 20th July 2020 and entered the orbit of Mars on 9th February 2021 after travelling for 205 days.
The Hope Probe was named “Hope” or “Al-Amal” to send out a message of optimism to millions of Arabs across the globe and encourage them towards innovation.
The Hope Probe will collect one terabyte (1000GB) of new data about the Martian atmosphere, This data will be shared with more than 200 institutions worldwide for free.
A whopping 15.5 million hours of work went into the making of the Hope Probe Hope Probe was launched from Tanegashima Space Center near Minamitane, Japan.
A prototype of the Hope spacecraft was displayed at the Dubai Air Show in November 2017.
