Jump for joy! The Starwalk is a 20’ x 20’ air-inflated balloon bounce. Experience the fun of a carnival at your party complete with scooters, balls and hula-hoops. No instructor or entertainer is provided. Ages: 3 and older $295 for 20 guest. $5 for each additional child.

GRAFFITI PAINTING

Have fun painting on a canvas to create your own graffiti masterpiece using stencils, tape resist, stamping, dripping and brushing. At the end of this party children will have a colorful and exciting piece of art that is ready to take home and hang on the wall. One hour of instruction, paint and painting supplies are included in the cost. Blank canvases are additional. Dress for a mess or bring a smock.

Basketball Clinics 3Point Athletics

With 10 years of experience running quality instructional youth basketball programs in the Chicagoland area, 3Point Athletics is excited to continue bringing its dedicated and engaging staff to Winnetka Community House. This fall we will be offering our unique blend of fundamental drills mixed with a non-competitive and fun atmosphere that will be sure to keep your child excited about learning and participating in our favorite sport. All individual and team skills will be introduced with a stress on dribbling and ball handling. Join us this spring and prepare for your upcoming season by building your confidence with the 3Point Athletics staff. Register early! Space is limited.

Little Hoopers 3Point Athletics

Designed for children, these 45 minute clinics are an introduction to basic basketball for the beginner. Classes will provide a comfortable and fun group environment as participants learn the fundamentals of the sport with an emphasis on dribbling and ball handling. 3Point’s engaging staff will emphasize activities that help develop basic motor skills, hand-eye coordination and following directions. Each participant will receive a Little Hoopers shirt.

Junior Basketball Hot Shots Sports New!

Children are introduced to the game of basketball in a safe, fun and exciting environment. Our curriculum uses age appropriate activities and games specifically designed to increase balance, body awareness, motor skills and hand-eye coordination. These factors are important in the overall development of children.

3 on 3 Basketball Tournament

Join us for a fun-filled day of competitive basketball! Enjoy great competition and test your skills against players from Winnetka and throughout the North Shore. This double elimination tournament is open to all sixth, seventh and eighth graders interested in learning, enhancing and developing their skills. Each four player team should be registered together by one team leader. That leader will receive a confirmation email with times and details at least five days before the event. Tournament timing may be adjusted based on the number of teams.

Bring your game to the Douglas Smith Gymnasium at Winnetka Community House and prove that you have what it takes to become a 3 on 3 Champion.

FIRST, SECOND AND THIRD GRADE

YOUTH BASKETBALL LEAGUE

If you have a first through third grade boy or girl interested in playing basketball against other area players without the hassle of traveling to a different location for every game, this program is for them. Participants will learn fundamental skills through weekly practice and games. Adult volunteers coach all teams. First grade games will have youth size basketballs and eight foot basketball rims. Third grade games will have adult size basketballs, 9 foot basketball rims and score will be kept. All games will have staff referees and timekeepers. All participants will receive a team t-shirt and commemorative basketball.

1. Teams will be established according to school (Crow Island, Greeley, Hubbard Woods, Sacred Heart, Faith Hope, North Shore Country Day and more), there will be no evaluation. When filling out your registration form please remember to insert your child/ children’s school. Otherwise placement on a particular school team cannot be guaranteed. If there are more than 10 children from a school, multiple teams will be formed. If there too few children from any one school, children will be placed on a team according to village of residence. Due to the number of children in this program requests will not be taken.

2. There will be a one hour practice during the week. Time, assigned at a later date, will be sometime between Monday and Friday, 5:00–8:00 p.m. There will be two weeks of practice before the first game.

3. Games will be held on Saturdays. Time, assigned at a later date, will be sometime between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Games will begin after two weeks of practice.

4. All team information (roster, practice time, game time, coach, etc.) will be available on or before December 13, at quickscores.com/wch.

YOUTH BASKETBALL COACHES REGISTRATION AND INFORMATION

Are you a basketball enthusiast who would like to pass on your skills and knowledge of the game? The Community House is looking for adult volunteers to coach in the Youth Basketball Program for first–third graders. There will be a mandatory coaches meeting on Monday, December 9. If you are interested in coaching, please fill out the bottom of this page and return it to Jeff Wahl, Athletic Supervisor. You may also fill out the coaching form at www.quickscores.com/wch. There is a maximum of two coaches per team.

There will be no guarantee of coaching partner or coaching opportunity.

Deadline to register as a coach is November 3, 2013.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Member registration opens July 15, 2013 and will be processed on a first come, first served basis.

Membership does not guarantee placement in a class.

All non-members will be able to register July 22, 2013.

Registration received through the mail, fax, or in person will be processed by 5:00 p.m. the next business day. The best way to ensure that your registration is processed immediately is by using our online registration at winnetkacommunityhouse.org

Membership Information

Early registration: Members are eligible to register for all classes one week prior to the start of seasonal registration. Early registration can be done via the web at winnetkacommunityhouse.org, fax or in person at Winnetka Community House. Please note: early registration does not guarantee a spot in a class.

All family members in your household are eligible for membership benefits. When registering for membership, just list your family members, and they will be included for the program registration benefits automatically when registering for classes.

Members receive a notice about one month prior to the expiration, so the membership can be renewed for the next year. Refunds for memberships will not be available.

How To Register

To register for a membership simply list all eligible members on the registration form. Then check the box and add the membership fee in with your registration.

• Read and fill out form completely.

• By listing your email address, you agree to receive email communications from Winnetka Community House. We will never sell your address, but love to keep in touch with our users to give news about programs, events, and special offers from Winnetka Community House. If you do not wish to receive these emails, please unsubscribe.

• Sign the registration form.

• Unsigned forms will not be processed, but will be returned to you. This will delay processing your registration.

• Registration forms may be mailed or faxed. Registration by telephone is not accepted.

Credit Cards

You may use your credit card for all programs which appear with a class number or for a Fitness Centre membership. Fitness Centre memberships are obtained at the Fitness Centre only. Be sure to fill out the credit card information completely and sign the form. We do not take telephone registration. However, if you are paying by credit card, you may fax your registration to (847) 446-0609.

Cancellation of Classes

Prior to any class, registration is reviewed to determine if the enrollment is sufficient to hold the class. Register early! Do not wait until the day of the first class to register. You may find the class has been cancelled due to low enrollment.

Refund Policy

Full refunds will be issued for courses that are cancelled by Winnetka Community House due to insufficient registration. A refund, less a 10% service charge (not to exceed $25), may be granted if the refund request is received five full working days prior to the start of the program. No refunds will be allowed after this time unless a medical condition develops and a written explanation from a physician on his/her letterhead is presented. Due to advanced reservation requirements, no refunds for trips, outings or special events will be given.

Prorated Policy

Classes may be prorated if you would like to enroll in a class after it has started, provided the instructor has space and allows for late registration. The supervisor must approve the prorated amount.

Inclement Weather

Winnetka Community House will not hold classes on days when the Winnetka Public Schools have cancelled classes due to inclement weather.

Religious Holidays

Winnetka Community House makes every effort to avoid scheduling programs or events on religious holidays. Anyone affected will be offered the option of attending a session of the same program on a different date as a make-up, or receiving a prorated refund of the series fee for the date missed.

• Winnetka Community House is not responsible for the supervision of children on site prior to or remaining on site after the established program times.

• Winnetka Community House is handicapped accessible.

• If you or any member of your family has special needs, please see our Executive Director.

Winnetka Community House receives no tax dollars. We are supported by our programs, fund raising events, our annual campaign, and donations.

• Winnetka Community House assumes no responsibility and carries no accident or medical insurance for injuries or accidents at programs or activities on Community House property. It is advisable to review your own personal health insurance plan to be certain that you and your family have proper and sufficient insurance coverage.

Brochure Errors

Complete details of program policies, procedures, and guidelines are sometimes inadvertently omitted. Errors in days, times, registration requirements and fees may occur in the brochure. When such errors occur the staff will advise you of the change as quickly as possible. We thank you for your understanding.

Copy service is available at $0.10/copy. Fax service is available at $2/first page and $1/each additional page. Cost to receive a fax: $1/page (Faxes are limited to 847, 312, 773, 708, and 630 area codes)

STEPHEN DUSTMAN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FUND

Winnetka Community House has established the Stephen Dustman Memorial Scholarship Fund to any resident who would like to take part in a Winnetka Community House activity, but is unable to render full payment. Persons interested may submit their need in writing to the attention of the Executive Director for confidential review. If further information is desired, please call our main office. Donations to this scholarship fund are gratefully accepted.

Winnetka Community House is committed to conducting its recreation programs and activities in the safest manner possible, and holds the safety of the participants in the highest possible regard. Participants and parents registering their child in recreation programs must recognize, however, that there is an inherent risk of injury when choosing to participate in recreation activities. Winnetka Community House continually strives to reduce such risks, and insists that all participants follow safety rules and instructions which have been designed to protect the participants’ safety. Please recognize that Winnetka Community House does not carry medical accident insurance for injuries sustained in its programs. The cost of such would make program fees prohibitive. Therefore, each person registering himself\herself or a family member for a recreation program/activity should review his/her own health insurance policy for coverage. It must be noted that the absence of health insurance coverage does not make Winnetka Community House automatically responsible for payment of medical expenses. As a participant in the program, I recognize and acknowledge that there are certain risks of physical injury, and I agree to assume the full risk of any injuries, including death, damages or loss, regardless of severity, which I may sustain as a result of participating in any and all activities connected with or associated with such program. I agree to waive and relinquish all claims I may have as a result of participating in the program against Winnetka Community House and its officers, agents, servants and employees.
