Gernot Heinrich and Fred Loimer and officially established in 2007. Membership is small with more coming on board as they complete the 3-year certification process. Respekt differs from Demeter in that it is purely tailored to viticulture. 2. Ried – a legally recognized term in Austria meaning single vineyard. 3. Österreichische Traditionsweingütter (ÖTW) – an association of
62 wineries in 6 different regions. The group maintains a private classification of vineyard sites with 81 vineyards classified as Erste Lage (premier cru), indicated by the symbol “1ÖTW.” Fred Loimer, Weingut Stadt Krems, and Fritz Wieninger are members of this prestigious group. 4. Vinea Wachau – an association established in 1983 that includes most
of the wine producers in the Wachau. Members must adhere to strict quality standards. The organization categorizes the white wines of the Wachau into three tiers of ripeness:
• Steinfeder (wines with maximum 11% ABV)
• Federspiel (wines between 11% and 12.5% ABV)
• Smaragd (wines achieving more than 12.5% ABV)
5. Steirische Terroir und Klassikweingüter (STK) – an association of
ten Styrian winegrowers who adhere to strict quality standards and maintain an esteemed vineyard classification. STK members classify their production into four categories:

• Erste STK Lage (single vineyard premier cru)
