Riccarton Park Racecourse

Welcome to Windsor Park Stud’s 2025 Rugby, Racing and Beer Sale... Powered by Entain!

We are thrilled to host you at this year’s event, an exciting initiative we launched five years ago, to promote racing ownership and participation across the South Island.

This year, we are proud to contribute a portion of the sale proceeds to two incredibly deserving charities, the Amanda Higgins Family Trust and the NZ Horse Ambulance Trust.

We are also delighted to welcome our guest speakers for this year’s event: Kieran Read, former All Black legend and centurion, New Zealand Rugby Player of the Year (2010, 2013), World Rugby Player of the Year (2013), and All Blacks Captain (2013-2019).

Also joining us is Will Hayes, a member of Australia’s renowned Lindsay Park Racing dynasty. As part of the third-generation training partnership alongside his brothers Ben and JD, Will carries forward the legacy of their father, David, and grandfather, Colin Hayes. Together, the Hayes brothers have already achieved remarkable success continuing the tradition that extends for over 75 years.

Our MCs for the event are Christchurch’s favourite son, Greg O’Connor, and the ‘world’s greatest auctioneer,’ Steve Davis.

We would like to extend our appreciation to Entain, our major sponsor, whose involvement has had an incredible impact on the New Zealand Racing industry.

We also thank our valued sponsors: IRT, Arion Pedigrees, Betavet, Taylor Perry Consulting Limited, and Riccarton Park Racecourse for their generous support and a special thank you goes to the Canterbury Jockey Club and their team.

With your continued support and bids, we are confident that this year’s sale will be another resounding success, filled with excitement and fun.

Kind regards,

Rod and the Team

FUNDRASIER

AMANDA HIGGINS FAMILY TRUST

The team at Windsor Park are proud to lend support to the Amanda Higgins Family Trust following the heartbreaking loss of Amanda late last year to terminal cancer. A beloved Ashburton trainer, Amanda fought bravely to the finish line leaving behind husband Stuart and their three children — 3-year-old Lizzie and 16-year-old twin boys, Kaydence and Rylie.

A former jockey, turned farrier, Stuart has devoted himself to caring for Lizzie which has resulted in him having a greatly reduced capacity to work. With the significant, additional financial strain placed on the family, we are rallying together to raise funds that will go directly toward helping ease some of the burden. The Higgins family are people reluctant to ever ask for help but right now they could definitely do with some and so we think this is a most appropriate cause to help support Stuart and the children.

NEW ZEALAND HORSE AMBULANCE TRUST

Windsor Park Stud is donating funds from the sale to a wonderful cause, the New Zealand Horse Ambulance Trust, established in 2016 to fund and procure purposebuilt equine ambulances for New Zealand horse racing andequestrian events. We can now celebrate the world’s first dedicated national horse ambulance service, following the commissioning of the country’s ninth horse ambulance in March 2022. We believe every horse deserves access to the best potential outcome if injured, and to be treated with respect.
