DOWNTOWN WINDSOR PARKING

Improvements Expand Accessibility and Convenience

In a move that underscores the Town of Windsor’s ongoing commitment to thoughtful urban planning, smart growth, and community engagement, the Town Board has recently adopted the Downtown Parking Management Plan, making it easier than ever for residents, business owners, and visitors to enjoy all that downtown Windsor has to offer.

The improvements go far beyond

simply increasing the number of spaces. Guided by the comprehensive Downtown Parking Study, the town has carefully analyzed current and future parking needs to create long-term solutions that support a vibrant and growing downtown. Through targeted paving and construction projects, previously underutilized or informal spaces have been transformed into well-marked, accessible parking lots that better serve the community.

In addition to added capacity, roadway enhancements throughout the downtown core are improving traffic circulation, pedestrian safety, and overall walkability. New crosswalks and updated signage help

create a safer and more welcoming environment for everyone, whether traveling on foot, bike or by car.

To further maximize available parking, the town has partnered with businesses through innovative shared use agreements. These partnerships open private parking lots for public use during non-business hours, significantly expanding parking availability during evenings, weekends, and busy event seasons, such as the Summer Concert Series, Farmers Market and Harvest Festival.

Expanded street parking also enables more convenient access to storefronts, restaurants, and businesses, making it easier for residents and visitors to support local commerce.

Whether residents are grabbing coffee, shopping at a favorite boutique, or attending one of Windsor’s many popular community events, a variety of convenient, accessible parking options are now available to make the downtown experience even more enjoyable.

RIDE FREE WITH GREELEY-EVANS TRANSIT THIS SUMMER

Greeley-Evans Transit (GET) is once again participating in Zero Fare for Better Air, We’ll Get You There — a statewide initiative aimed at reducing ground-level ozone and improving air quality. From June through August, all rides on the Poudre Express, will be free for residents and visitors.

Made possible by Colorado Senate Bill 24-032 and the Ozone Season Transit Grant Program, this summer-long effort encourages both new and regular riders to help keep Colorado’s air clean during the peak ozone season.

Since its launch in 2022, the program has seen strong results across Colorado, with ridership increases ranging from 2% to over 200% in some areas.
