WINDSOR MATTERS NOVEMBER 2021

WATCH OUT FOR

PORCH PIRATES

For many, the holidays signal the start of a busy online shopping season but in reality, year-round package delivery is becoming more and more commonplace. The Windsor Police Department wants to remind residents to be vigilant during the holiday season and throughout the year as packages arrive. Consider following these tips to thwart package thefts: • Ask a neighbor to pick up a package if you're away from home • Offer to pick up a neighbor's package for them • Request for packages to be sent to your post office or another participating mail delivery location • Share surveillance video of package theft with the police It’s important to note that Nextdoor, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram are not replacements for our local police department. If you fall victim to porch pirates, please report it by calling the Windsor Police immediately.
