July 2026 PRESIDENT'S PEN Serving on the Board As we enter another Windsor Gardens Board of Directors election season this month, I find myself reflecting on what has now been nearly seven years of Bobbie Mays, service on our board. While my current term does not WG Board conclude until December, President I wanted to take this opportunity to share some thoughts about board service and encourage residents to consider becoming involved in the leadership of our community. When I first joined the board, I simply wanted to contribute to the place I call home. Over the years, that decision has provided me with a deeper understanding of the responsibilities, challenges and rewards that come with serving our community. I have learned that effective community leadership is not about individual accomplishments but about working together to make decisions that benefit all residents. Serving on the board has allowed me to work alongside dedicated volunteers, management professionals, committee members, and engaged residents. Together, we have addressed challenges, planned for the future, maintained our facilities, managed our finances, and sought to preserve and enhance the quality of life that makes our community special. One lesson stands out above all others: a healthy and vibrant HOA depends on resident continued on page 4
