April 2026 PRESIDENT'S PEN Legacy Giving For many of our Windsor Gardens residents, home is more than just a place to live; it is a space filled with friendships, Bobbie Mays, memories, and shared experiences.

Over WG Board the years, neighbors President become an extended family, and the community itself becomes an integral part of one’s life story. Our residents, often share a strong commitment to preserving the quality, beauty, and spirit of our home.

Years ago, our community was gifted a unit after its owner passed away.

At that time, we did not have a formal procedure for managing such gifts. In 2025, our Revenue Exploration and Innovation Committee implemented a Legacy Giving Gift, Donations and Memorial Donation Policy, adopted in March 2025, to address this type of opportunity.

One significant way to honor our connections is through legacy giving.

By including gifts or assets in their financial or estate plans, residents can help ensure our community thrives for generations. This might involve a donation designated to support community improvements, programs, or special projects that benefit both current and future residents. continued on page 4

PRESIDENT'S PEN continued from page 1 With over 3,500 residents in Windsor Gardens, this is an opportunity to reflect on the future of our community and to explore how we, as residents, can incorporate voluntary gifts into our long-term plans.

For some, this may be a small gift designated in a will or trust, or a contribution made in memory of a loved one. It’s important to note that this consideration is not limited to posthumous gifts; contributions can also be made during one’s lifetime. These gifts can enhance shared spaces, support community activities, or facilitate improvements that make our community an even better place to live.

Please be assured that there is no expectation or obligation for anyone to participate. Legacy giving is entirely personal, and each individual or family may consider it in their own time and according to their own wishes. These contributions can help maintain our beautiful gardens, improve common areas, support social activities, or fund special projects that enrich community life.

Just as previous residents helped shape the community we enjoy today, legacy gifts empower current residents to invest in our future. Legacy giving can take many forms, depending on personal preferences and financial plans. Some common methods include: >A will: including, but not limited to, simple wills, joint wills, and holographic wills; > A trust: including but not limited to, living trusts, revocable and irrevocable trusts, testamentary trusts, remainder trusts; and

> A designation of non-probate assets upon the donor’s death: such as through Payable on Death Accounts, Beneficiary Deeds, and the designation or transfer of Life Insurance or Retirement Plan proceeds.

For many individuals, legacy giving transcends financial value; it is about leaving something meaningful behind. A gift may reflect a resident's love for gardening, appreciation for community gatherings, or desire to support programs that foster connection and activity among residents.

Legacy giving is a personal and voluntary decision. Residents considering this option are encouraged to discuss their wishes with family members, consult with a financial advisor or estate attorney, and collaborate with HOA leadership to understand how their gifts may be utilized.

A written notice must be provided to WGA, and a designation form must be completed. You can read the legacy giving policy on our association website or contact our office for more information.

Windsor Gardens is committed to transparency and responsible governance, ensuring that any legacy contributions are managed in accordance with the donor’s intentions.

WG Board in Motion At their regular board meeting on March 19, 2026, the WG Board of Directors approved the following motions: Architectural Review Committee motion to continue with the two-color scheme options for the next phase of the hallway decorating project.

Finance Committee motions: − Motion to transfer $379,019.42 to the capital reserve account. − Motion to transfer $185,177.75 to the tax reserve account. − Motion to transfer $217,750.72 to the capital reserve account.

(This transfer represents the March insurance loan payment from the operating account.)

Long-Range Planning Committee motion not to proceed with cosmetic projects, i.e., warehouse metal roof, copper cone on auditorium, roof vents, and metal entry canopies, and to transfer remaining allocated funds into the capital reserves for future needs rather than completing repairs now.

A motion to write a letter to Councilwoman Sawyer, the High Line Canal Conservancy, and Denver Parks and Recreation to document the association’s support of the High Line Canal improvement project, and to also express concern about the proposed detour and bike lane along South Clinton Street.

A motion to keep the entrance on Clinton Street to the underground garage parking lot 24 open, to continue monitoring, and to revisit the situation if safety or security concerns increase.

A motion to approve pursuing a settlement with the property insurance carriers to fully recover the $1.8 million in withheld depreciation prior to the claim’s two-year closure deadline.

At an executive session on March 19, the board discussed personnel issues, a privacy matter, and delinquencies. The board approved transitioning several delinquent accounts to the attorney’s office and removing a committee member from their position.

Proposed Revised Community Gardens Policy The below proposed revised Community Gardens Policy will be voted on by the WG Board of Directors on April 22, 2026. Letters may be dropped off at the association office. Please submit comments by April 21, 2026.

COMMUNITY GARDENS POLICY AMENDED Windsor Gardens has 79 garden plots for the benefit of association residents. These garden plots are located on the east boundary of the community on the Dayton Street property, and in Windsor West open space land that borders Windsor Gardens on the west side. Collectively, these garden plots are referred to as the Community Gardens. The enjoyment and use of these areas depend on residents' cooperation and compliance with the rules and regulations.

The authority for this policy is granted by the Declaration for Windsor Gardens Association, Article 5, Section 5.16, Rules and Regulations.

1. The Windsor Community Garden Club (WCGC) will manage the Community Gardens in cooperation with the Activities Director, Grounds Supervisor, and Facilities Manager when needed. The gardening season is from May 1 to November 1 of each year.

2. The WCGC Board will also: a. Maintain, administer, and publish written rules that provide for the peaceful enjoyment and use of the garden plots. b. Maintain accurate records that document and support a fair and impartial allocation of garden plots, as well as any decisions that are made to terminate a resident’s use of a garden plot. See additional requirements for

garden plot allocation listed under numbers 3 through 4 of this policy. c. Maintain the Community Gardens and ensure that the garden plots are neat and regularly weeded. Gardeners are responsible for removing weeds along the walkways in their assigned garden plots. The Association reserves the right to treat and remove the weeds adjacent to the garden plots if they are not maintained by the WCGC. See additional maintenance requirements listed under number 5 of this policy.

3. No Registered Member, as defined in the WCGC guidelines, may be guaranteed a garden plot for more than four years.

Applications for new gardeners will be accepted beginning January 1 through May 1. A waitlist for garden plots will be maintained by an officer of the WCGC board and may be suspended with advanced notice to the Activities Director when the list reaches 40 applications. The list will reopen when 5 applications are left unassigned. A copy of the waiting list will be provided to the Activities Director by April 15 of each year, and as otherwise requested.

Gardeners, whose plot assignment expired in the previous year, may submit an application for a one-year extension beginning May 1. The one-year extension is subject to the waiting list, which will take priority over an application for an extension. Previous gardeners are considered new gardeners if they have not been assigned a plot for one year 4. Registered members who refuse or relinquish a plot in any given year, for any reason, may not go back on the waiting list until after May 1 of the following year.

5. Maintenance of the Community Gardens: a. All gardening must be contained within the individual garden plots. No container planting is allowed outside of garden plots or the composite plot railings.

From the General Manager ASSOCIATION INSURANCE PROGRAM RENEWED ON APRIL 1 The association's insurance program was renewed on April 1. The program is extensive, with multiple policies, carriers, and coverage limits. These policies include general liability coverage and coverage for property owned by the association. Zazueta This year's budget did not include an increase in insurance expenses. The association's insurance agent successfully negotiated with the various insurance carriers and was able to decrease the overall premium by $247K compared to last year. This is a remarkable outcome considering the massive $14.5M hailstorm claim the association experienced in 2024.

The current insurance program requires payment of the premium in full upon renewal. Annually, funds are borrowed from the capital

reserve account to pay the large premium in a lump sum. The funds borrowed are repaid to the capital reserve account monthly as assessment income is received. Although this is not the traditional purpose of reserve funds, it allows the association to cover this large expense without incurring interest in a financed solution.

As part of the renewal process, Cherry Creek Insurance Group issues certificates of insurance to all mortgage companies of record. If you have a mortgage, an insurance certificate was likely issued for your unit. In most cases, this process is automated, and you do not need to do anything. In some cases, you may receive a letter from the mortgage company stating that they have not received evidence of insurance. If you receive this letter, please bring a copy to the business office, and we will be happy to help you to get an insurance certificate issued. Or you may also go directly through Cherry Creek Insurance Group by emailing the letter to certificate@thinkccig.com or faxing it to 303-799-0156, Attn: HOA Dept.

2026-2027 BUDGET RATIFICATION The 2026-2027 association budget was ratified and took effect on April 1. Special thanks to all the owners who participated in the budget process and those who attended or reviewed the annual meeting presentation.

By now, owners should have received the notice of their new HOA assessment amount by mail. If you use ACH payments through the association, your monthly amount will be updated

automatically and withdrawn from your bank account as usual.

Payment coupons were mailed to owners who do not use ACH. Please include the monthly coupon with your check each month.

If you use bill pay through your bank, please update the amount to be paid and ensure that your WG account number is listed on the check your bank sends.

MAINTENANCE & GROUNDS UPDATES CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS Fiber Network: Vero is continuing their underground construction around the loop, moving counterclockwise. This construction consists of potholing to confirm utility locations and depths and boring to place conduits and handholes. Vero is also working inside the Zone 1 buildings and will soon begin in the Zone 2 buildings, installing Invisilight fiber throughout the hallways.

Underground Garages Project: Five large ash trees bordering upper parking lot 24 were removed. We are in the process of waterproofing the edge that extends from the underground garage 24 entrance/exit ramp. We started waterproofing the intermediate seams that are a patchwork on the underground garage 24 deck. We have backfilled the NE corner of the deck near building 62.

Major Plumbing Repairs and Replacements: The fire line that is near building 84 is all plumbed in and we are waiting for inspections.

We installed new hot water systems in buildings 7 and 52.

Outdoor Pool: Resurfacing is scheduled for April 2026. We finished the concrete patches with sandscape, a decorative concrete.

Offices: New thermostats were installed in the main office.

GENERAL MAINTENANCE PROJECTS Hailstorm Repairs: The window replacement project continues. We are moving along well with the parking lot gutter

replacements in parking lots 12 through 20. Parking lots 18 and 20 are complete and we have several gutters done in the other lots. We are following up with the sealing of old screw holes on the edges. The damaged siding has been repaired/replaced in parking lots 8 and 9. Parking lot 7 is in progress now.

GROUNDS We are trimming shrubs, perennials and grasses. We are over halfway complete.

Mulch has been added to the landscape.

Repair work related to UGG 24 project continues.

Flagstone and rock projects continue.

We have activated the irrigation system to water the trees due to dry conditions.

We are following the Vero fiber installation crews in order to repair pipes, drains, wires and landscape.

Five more large trees have been tagged for removal: a locust on the golf course, two cottonwoods at buildings 23 and 20, and one locust tree each at buildings 16 and 23.

Stump grinding continues.

We had a demonstration of the new irrigation clocks from Rainbird-Start on the golf course and pool.

We are hand watering the newer trees, shrubs, and sod at building 60.

Vero Construction Updates Outside Work Vero is continuing their underground construction around the loop, moving counterclockwise from the West side of the Community Center, and continuing along the loop to the East side of the Community Center. This construction will consist of utility locates, potholing to confirm utility locations and depths, and boring to place conduits and handholes.

Inside Work Vero is also working in Zone 1 buildings, installing Invisilight fiber throughout each building's hallways in preparation for service

installation. They will soon move to Zone 2 to install the Invisilight fiber. Once Zone 2 is complete, the inside crew will move to Zone 3.

Zone 2 Residents Meeting: Vero will meet with residents in Zone 2 on Monday, April 13, at 1 p.m. at CenterPoint to discuss the interior work in their buildings and encourage sign-ups. Maintenance Matters 45 YEARS AT WGA

Facilities Maintenance Manager Bill Walsh

I was hired by the WG Grounds Department on March 23, 1981, as an irrigation technician.

For reference, Ronald Reagan had just been elected as president. My initial job was raking leaves and debris while we waited for warmer weather to turn on the sprinklers. My first year was challenging, but I learned a lot about the property while repairing the irrigation system. Within a year, I was a groundskeeper lead man, directing workers on tasks like mowing, pruning, irrigation, snow removal, flower planting, and my least favorite: garage sweeping.

I was promoted to assistant supervisor in my third year, and two years later, I became the grounds department supervisor. At that time, we had 40 summertime grounds employees.

Over the next few years, I did my best to make our tasks more efficient, largely by purchasing and using the right equipment.

I watched the CenterPoint building go up in 1988. And we took over the golf course that had been leased shortly after that. We were soon running our program with fewer than 25 men thanks to new programs that included proper irrigation and fertilization practices, along with modern mowing and snow removal equipment. In 1991, the old A-frame auditorium was replaced with the auditorium you see today. We continued

using technology by installing a new, digitally controlled irrigation system. This gave us significant water savings and reduced our irrigation work hours by half.

In 2006, our facilities manager, Math Pint, retired, and management asked me to take over the position. It was a difficult decision, considering the love and passion I had invested in our beautiful property's turf, trees, and flowers. But I felt it was a good thing to move forward. As it turned out, my experience with the grounds lent itself well to managing the indoor facilities. I knew the property, and I understood what our residents expected.

It’s been 20 years since I moved into the facilities manager position, and not a single day has gone by that I haven't been challenged.

This job is very much soup to nuts. I’m busy all day, every day, and the challenge has kept me here for 45 great years.

I’ve seen six general managers, thousands of employees and hundreds of board members come and go. Hail, flooding, blizzards, COVID, record rains, record drought, and damaging winds have all knocked us around, but our property has continued to thrive.

I have had the opportunity to get to know so many talented employees, board members and residents. People can be a pain, but the people have been my favorite part.

Thank you all for such a great opportunity.

PIPES: HOW DO I KNOW WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR? Many Windsor Gardens owners are surprised that they are responsible for maintaining and repairing some of the pipes within the walls of their units. When pipes are covered with drywall, it can be a bit confusing.

Simply put, when it comes to a drain issue, if a sink, toilet or tub is draining slowly, it is probably the homeowner’s responsibility.

If water backs up into your sink, tub, or toilet without warning, it could be a main line for which WGA is responsible. Call us first, and we will advise you.

The association policy states that the owner is responsible for any piping that supplies or drains a single unit or fixture within that unit.

The association maintains all the main or common lines that supply or drain more than one unit. Any pipe that branches from the main drain line into a single unit is the unit owner’s responsibility.

Let’s look at an example. A unit has a slow-draining bathroom sink. It can take several minutes to drain the basin. It’s easy to assume that anything clogging that drain went into the sink first, so whatever is causing the problem came from that fixture or unit.

The unit owner is responsible for clearing the blockage in that drain. The owner calls several plumbers to fix the slow sink drain, but they refuse to run a drain snake through the line because the lines are rumored to be very worn and delicate. And, yes, this is true in many cases. If the plumber tries to force a drain snake down the line, it can rupture that pipe. Another reason for ruptured sink pipes is that people have used drain-cleaning products over

the years, which cause corrosion in this relatively level, horizontal pipe.

Luckily, you can replace the pipe. The drainpipe is typically about 32 inches long before it connects to a main or common drain line. Although replacing it may seem like a huge undertaking, it’s not terribly complicated or time-consuming. It will require some drywall removal and, in some cases, some tile removal, but most plumbers can knock it out fairly efficiently.

Another highly misunderstood issue we see is water damage caused by corrosion of bathtub or shower p-traps. Typically, these p-traps are below your unit inside the ceiling of the unit below yours. This can lead to frustration because the owner of a leaking pipe does not know it's leaking until it shows in the ceiling of the unit below.

Replacing the p-trap for a tub or shower is most effective with the cooperation of the owner of the unit below. After all, the leak will affect the unit below, so allowing work to be done is a win-win.

This project involves cutting a one-foot square of drywall from the bathroom ceiling of the lower unit, usually directly above the tub or shower in that unit. And, of course, some plumbing work to repair or completely replace any suspect piping. In this scenario, the upper unit with the leaking device is responsible for any damage to the unit below. Preventing property damage makes these leaks a priority; the sooner they are recognized and repaired, the less potential for damage there is.

Some plumbing repairs and upgrades — such as shower valve or shut-off valve replacements, water supply line repair and plumbing fixture replacements — require a temporary water shut-off to the building. Residents must not attempt any repairs without first scheduling and confirming that the water has been shut off and that all shutoff valves and angle stops are fully operational.

STEP 3: SCHEDULE THE WATER SHUT-OFF

The water shut-off process must be coordinated in advance to ensure all work is completed safely and with minimal disruption to other residents.

Scheduling and coordinating the water shut-off is the resident’s responsibility. With proper planning, advance notice, and clear communication with your contractor and Windsor Gardens, the process will go smoothly, and your plumbing work can be completed without delays.

STEP 1: SUBMIT A MODIFICATION PACKET Before scheduling a water shut-off, you must submit a modification packet for approval. This packet outlines the scope of the plumbing work and ensures the project meets the requirements of the Modification of Units Policy.

Physical copies of the packet are available in the administration office lobby and the fitness center. The packet is also available digitally in the Helpful Forms folder in the Resource Center at www. windsorgardensdenver.org. No matter where you obtain a copy, the packet provides clear, step-by-step guidance.

Submit your completed modification packet to Policy and Modifications Administrator Brandyn Williams for review and approval.

Community Response UPDATED CALL HANDLING SYSTEM From Chris Scovil, Chief of Community Response Community Response has updated how incoming calls are handled to improve clarity and reliability.

In the past, calls were routed through handheld radios, which could be difficult to hear and were occasionally disconnected. Calls also tied up the Community Response line.

With our new system, calls are answered by our dispatcher. If a call is missed, it is automatically routed to Community Response cell phones. This allows for clearer communication, caller ID, and

the ability to leave a voicemail if needed. Officers can also return calls more efficiently.

If you are experiencing an emergency, call 911 immediately. The 911 center will notify Community Response as appropriate.

Residents are encouraged to call Community Response, and most calls will be answered live. If you reach our voicemail, you may leave a message; however, responses may be delayed. If they see you loading stuff into your trunk, then your vehicle is on their radar.

You can be angry that we have to go to these lengths now to protect even the most innocuous of items, but it’s a sign of the times we live in, and it’s a lot less stressful to be proactive against possible theft than it is to repair damage to your car or replace stolen items. Don’t make the life of a thief easy.

Though she takes her job seriously, Dottie does it all with a quiet, shy demeanor. She isn’t one to demand attention or push her way into a crowd. Instead, she hangs just slightly behind, observing first and stepping forward only once she feels comfortable.

During her time on the course, hazing the geese, Dottie trots beside the golf cart with serious focus, nose to the ground, making sure everything smells exactly as it should. When approaching a flock of geese nestled together, heads down, partaking of the bounty of lush grass and fresh seeds, she sets her mind to the job at hand.

With a few quick commands, “watch ‘em" and then "get ‘em!”, she’s off to the chase.

She’s bold with the geese but still checks back for reassurance, glancing toward her handler to confirm she’s doing it right. It’s not until she hears the crisp command “break,” or reaches the edge of the lake, that she ends her pursuit. This routine is repeated until all nine holes, totaling 1,236 yards, are cleared of geese and restored to golfers.

By midday, Dottie finds her favorite spot at the back of the Pro Shop, where she can rest without being the center of attention.

She curls up in her familiar place, content but alert, resting with one eye open and one ear tuned to the sounds of the shop. Members know not to overwhelm her; a calm voice, a slow approach, and a gently tossed treat are surefire ways to earn her trust and build her confidence. The more she sees familiar faces, the braver she becomes.

As the last golfers finish their rounds and the sky softens into evening, Dottie completes her final quiet patrol. The flags still in the breeze, she makes one last run of the course, often with a little extra zest and sometimes a flash of playful energy that only appears once the crowds have thinned. She leaves the course with her handler, slightly dusty and grass-covered, knowing she’s done her job well.

Tomorrow, before the first tee time, she’ll be back, quietly ready to tackle another day at Emerald Greens. She may be shy, but this course is her home, and she protects it with a steady heart and a wag that grows a little more confident each day.

INDOOR POOL

HOURS: The fitness center is open 24/7 for residents with an ID badge keycard, except during cleaning times. It is closed for cleaning on Tuesdays and Fridays from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m.

The indoor aquatic facilities (indoor pool, saunas and therapy pool) are closed for cleaning every Monday from 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. and all day every Thursday (closure begins Wednesday at 4 p.m., and the pool reopens Friday at 6 a.m.). These areas are also closed on Mondays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. during the aqua fitness classes.

Windsor Writers I Needs Me Glasses to Finds Me Glasses! by Marilynn Reeves The other night, while watching TV, I took off my glasses and set them on the end table in order to rest my eyes during a commercial break. When I woke up – 40 minutes later! – I reached for my glasses, but they were no longer there. Where, or where, could they be?

First, I searched all around the chair and the end table from a standing position, but my glasses simply could not be seen from that angle, so I knew I’d have to get down on the floor and look under the chair. But first I’d have to put on my computer glasses, which I normally use for close-up viewing – like my monitor and my art boards while I’m painting. They make things look a bit blurry for walking around the house, but it's better than nothing. It would probably also help if I used a flashlight, thinking that my glasses would reflect back the light from their hiding place.

I went into the office to grab my computer glasses off my desk. Then I pulled my little flashlight out of my utility drawer, but drat! … the light wouldn’t turn on, and I couldn’t open up the shaft in order to replace the battery. That little flashlight was only about 30 years old. They just don’t make things to last like they used to!

So – last resort – I opened the door to my dark, spooky storage room and found my big flashlight, which actually still worked. It’s probably at least 10 years younger than my little one, which I ended up pitching in the trash. (Note to self: go to Lowe’s and see if they still sell any of those smaller flashlights.)

Now armed for battle, I went back to my chair and, oh, so carefully, lowered myself down to the floor so I could look under there and hopefully find my regular glasses. I shone the beam all around under the chair, but all I saw reflecting back were dust bunnies. No glasses.

(Note #2: get out the vacuum one of these days and clean up all those dust bunnies!)

Okay, so now, all I had to do was get back up again and move the end table to see if they had fallen under that. Except that getting back up off the floor presented its own problems. My chair, being a swivel-rocker type, was no help. It both rocked and swiveled when I tried to put my weight on it to pull myself back up again. So, I ended up crawling over to the nearest solid object – my good old piano bench, which – like my piano – is almost as old as I am, but made of sturdy mahogany. And with its help, I was able to heave myself back up to a standing position. (Note #3: try to avoid getting back down on the floor – you don’t want to go through all that again!)

This time, I grabbed the little end table and moved it away from the chair. Still no glasses. Where or where could they be? But then I heard something rattle. Somehow, my glasses had fallen into the book bin at the bottom of the little table. So, victory at last! I set the end table back into its usual grooves in the carpet, put the flashlight away in the spooky storage room, put my computer glasses back on the desk in my office … and gratefully headed off to bed.

Please Take My Books, But Not Yet by Janice Morrow Dearly Beloved, we are gathered here today to mourn the tragic loss of 1,500 of my closest friends, many of whom were first editions. Apparently, it is unlawful for anyone over fifty-five to have too much stuff they love. Especially if it’s books.

What makes this occasion even more tragic is the unfettered joy that my family is experiencing right now. I have never jumped for joy when one of their dogs died. Or shouted, “It’s about time!” when their cat died. If enforced pre-burial decluttering isn’t elder abuse, I don’t know what is. I am gobsmacked by their lack of compassion.

Now the culling begins. Let’s see…give away every book Steinbeck wrote, plus his biography? Duh, no. All my Faulkner’s? Ditto. The Mark Twain’s? Of course not. How do you think I got through junior high? Jane Austen? Over my dead body. Isak Dinesen? Fat chance.

Hemingway? All right. But only because he was so hateful to Dorothy Parker.

How is it possible to give away books I have literally savored? Books that were so lush in beauty that I only allowed myself to read two pages at a time, so I could make the book last longer. To give that sort of book away would be akin to a mom donating her toddler to Goodwill because she needs more time playing pickleball.

My love affair with books started at five years old. The minute those hieroglyphics on a page connected with the alphabet song, I was on my way. I blasted off into the book world like a thoroughbred exploding out of the gate in the Belmont.

Like every other baby boomer, I had to start with those little tykes, Dick and Jane. After three months of first grade, I realized that if I talked like Dick and Jane in my neighborhood, my pals would have beaten the crud out of me. Thank goodness for the Houston Post!

You will never convince me that look, look, looking at Jane staring at their dog is more compelling than a front- page, in-depth description of a double murder. Since my dad liked to read, I read everything he left lying around. Books made sense. Adults did not. Holden Caulfield confirmed my opinion of adults. Validation! How sweet the sound.

Back to torture culling. Here’s my beat-up copy of “Lord of the Flies.” I defy anyone to read that and not have flashbacks to ninth-grade gym class. Is it ethical to throw out books continued on page 34
