Welcome I hope you are enjoying the summer and finding time to relax and recharge. This is an exciting time at Windsor, and I look forward to the season ahead and sharing our latest news with you. This summer, construction in the North Village continues at an impressive pace. The new 13,800-square-foot Fitness & Wellness Centre has broken ground, roads are paved, and many boardwalks, a lake deck, and trails are now in place. Only four homesites remain available in this thoughtfully planned final phase of development. Throughout this edition, we feature a selection of available properties, including a spectacular oceanfront home, a rare oceanfront homesite, homes in the Village and South Village, and a newly constructed home nearing completion. On the opposite page, we share an update on Windsor’s thriving Wine Association. With more than 100 members, the Association offers a robust calendar of wine tastings, dinners, special events, access to limited-production wines, and

Q: You live on an iconic 5-acre property, known as Marshouse, which also serves as a teaching laboratory. How has the property evolved into more than a place you call home? One thing I always return to is the importance of being a reliable voice. There is so much information online now, but much of it is written by people who have not actually tested what they are recommending. I am fortunate to have a place where I can try things myself, so I do not suggest anything unless I have experimented with it firsthand. My garden is not one I would design for a client; it is made up of bits and pieces of ideas. It has become an experimental space where I can test what works. It has become our test kitchen, so to say. Q: In 2022, Alannah Weston invited you to join the design and development team for the community’s final phase of development, the North Village. Tell us about your work with Windsor. A colleague called and said, “Edwina, I want you to consider this project.” I said no at first because I was retiring, and I had worked with commercial real estate developers before without much success. Typically, sustainability remained a priority only until profitability felt threatened. But I was encouraged to read the design brief for the North Village, and the rest is history. I agreed to take it on, but not to design

it myself, since I no longer had an office or team to support me. We began searching for a landscape architect and found Isaac Stein and Maggie Tsang of Dept. They are a creative young landscape firm based in Houston, Texas. It was a fantastic fit because they represent the new generation we want to promote. For me, that is even more exciting than doing the work myself because they can show others their age that it is possible to build a successful practice by doing really good work. Q: The North Village is now a reality with homeowners designing their homes. Are you happy with the progress and how will you continue to be involved in the project?
