WELCOME Welcome to the first Windsor Properties Newsletter of 2017. I hope you and your family and friends enjoyed the holiday season.

At Windsor we were treated to an array of holiday festivities orchestrated by our esteemed culinary and events team. Also, we recently welcomed Vincent Cachot to Windsor as our new executive chef. Chef Vincent brings more than 30 years of culinary experience to Windsor, most recently having served as the executive chef at the famed Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel. We look forward to the opening of an exciting new exhibition at The Gallery at Windsor this season. Now it its 14th year, The Gallery continues its tradition of presenting world-class exhibitions featuring the leading contemporary artists of our time. Celebrated British artist and current President of the Royal Academy of Arts in London, Christopher Le Brun, will open a show at The Gallery in February. The exhibition titled Composer includes 16 new large-scale paintings and explores music and its relationship to his work. We welcome all to plan a visit to view this striking collection. CHRISTOPHER L e BRUN: COMPOSER EXHIBITION OPENS AT THE GALLERY AT WINDSOR

In 2017 The Gallery at Windsor will have the pleasure of showing the work of leading British artist, and President of the Royal Academy, Christopher Le Brun.

The Windsor exhibition will be the first of a two-part show to be shown in the United States this spring. Christopher Le Brun: Composer, features 16 new paintings and opens at Windsor’s gallery on February 25 and runs through April 27. The companion show takes place at the Albertz Benda gallery in New York, which includes a further 12 paintings, on display from March 2 through April 15.

Composer highlights the rich connection between music and painting. In 2015, Richard Birchall composed a solo piano piece directly in response to a painting by Le Brun, whose large scale work emphasizes color, space and light. This spurred the idea of the current exhibition. “That experience reminded me how important music has been to my imagination and my conception of what painting P h o t o © B e n e d i c t J o h n s o n , 2 016

Another inspiration was the painter’s discovery of a watercolor made at age 17 in response to an opera by Debussy, that is “virtually a complete premonition of a new painting which will be in the exhibition in New York,” he says. “It was like finding the foundations or source of my

The Gallery is open to the public Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; closed on Tuesday. An exhibition tour with lunch at the Clubhouse can be arranged and new this season is a tour and afternoon tea option. Special arrangements outside of published gallery hours can be made with advance notice.
