Thevotesarein!Aftercarefulconsiderationand enthusiasticparticipationfromresidents,Playground2 hasbeenchosenasthewinningdesignforWindmillField. Featuringswings,slides,climbingframes,aspinning carousel,andinteractivesensorypanels,thenew playgroundwillofferaninclusiveanddynamicspacefor childrenofallabilities.

LightwaterWarMemorialandGarden

ThisFebruary,theWarMemorialandGardensin LightwaterVillagereceivedarefresh,ensuringthey remainacherishedplaceofremembranceand reflectionforall.

Aswewelcomebrighterdays,springplantingwill beginoncetheriskoffrosthaspassed.Welook forwardtoseeingtheareaflourishintheweeks ahead.

WindleshamCemeteryUpdate

Wearepleasedtoinformresidentsthatanareaof WindleshamCemeteryhasrecentlybeen landscapedtoaccommodateadditionalhalf-plot burials.Thisworkensureswecancontinuetoprovide apeacefulandwell-maintainedrestingplaceforour community.

TheWindleshamVillageCommitteehasalso agreedtoplantaLiquidambartreewithinthe cemeterygrounds.Knownforitsstunningautumn foliage,theLiquidambardisplaysvibrantred, orange,andpurpleleaves,addingbeautyand seasonalinteresttothearea.

Trafficimprovements comingtoBagshotVillage

Since2023,WPC’sBagshot VillageCommitteeandthe Traffic&Infrastructure WorkingPartyhavebeen reviewingtrafficconditions. WithsupportfromSCC CouncillorRichardTear, SurreyHighwayshasnow approvedatrafficcalming proposal.

The25-26WPCportion ofyourcounciltax rangesfrom84pto £2.51perweek dependingonyour propertybanding.

Theparishpreceptistheportionofyourcounciltaxthatfunds theworkoftheparishcouncil.Ithelpsprovideessentiallocal services,maintainfacilities,andsupportcommunityinitiatives.

ThepreceptenablesWindleshamParishCounciltoprovidea rangeofservicesincluding:parksandopenspaces,allotments, cemeteries&heritageassets,treemanagementinour greenspacesareas,communitygrantsandeventsinthe villages.

Inn2025-26thereare 8,911preceptingparishes inEngland.

TheaverageBandD preceptchargedbylocal preceptingbodies (includingparish&town councils)for2025-26is £92.22.

Forthesecondyear theCouncilhas agreedabalanced budgetmeaning thatthenet expenditureforthe Parishiscoveredby incomeraisedbythe precept.

Meltthechocolate,goldensyrupandbutterinabowl setoverasaucepanofgentlysimmeringwater(donot letthebaseofthebowltouchthewater).Stirthe mixtureuntilsmooth.

Removethebowlfromtheheatandgentlystirinthe cornflakesuntilallofthecerealiscoatedinthe chocolate.

Dividethemixturebetweenthepapercasesandpress 3chocolateeggsintothecentreofeachnest.Chillin thefridgefor1hour,oruntilcompletelyset.
