“My grandmother and her two daughters, were travelers, wanderers…lovers of life. They went to the World’s Fair in Chicago. And spent time in Florida, finally making their way to California. They drew wildflowers in their cookbooks, and sketched their own maps. They made pretty dresses and wore men’s summer shirts and walked barefoot through the woven grasses.”

“From my studio on Whidbey Island in the Pacific Northwest, I start with a blank canvas; a bolt of muslin, fabric dyes, and the primary colors in silkscreen paints. I set to work gathering colors, images and objects from everywhere around me. Anthing that catches my eye on the driftwood beaches or in the studio becomes an artist’s tool: pine cones, spoons, brushes, homemade stamps and bamboo pens.” ~ Marcia

Marcia has honed and perfected her techniques for creating unique pieces of hand-dyed and hand-painted fabrics. She’s excited to showcase her Line and Marble Run prints as part of her Designer Essentials collection, adding to the mix of all things Marcia!
