“The artwork in this collection was created by hand, during the long days of Spring, 2020. I had moved with my family to the Catskill Mountains and was recovering from covid. I had not yet shut my studio in Manhattan, thinking that I would return imminently, and had none of my digital drawing tools or equipment with me. I had been considering the idea of creating a fabric collection with hand inked and painted artwork for some time. I was interested in the idea that advances in digitally printed fabric meant that I was not limited to working with solid masses of color. Plot twist! Technology was giving me the opportunity to work by hand!”

Tara Lilly is a Northern California based artist, designer, and mother of two. Her paintings are filled with whimsical florals, folkloric characters, and nature inspired motifs. She spent her younger years playing on family farmland in rural Northern California surrounded by the redwood forest, open meadows, and meandering creeks. She has always had a love for nature, and it is one of her biggest inspirations. As a child, she loved to pick wildflowers, forage for blackberries, and admire wild mushrooms beneath the redwood trees. In addition to her love of nature, Tara is inspired by folk art, antique textiles, mid century design, and her two children. She loves to paint everything floral, draw charming characters, and explore color. Her illustrations are found on artisan rugs, apparel, puzzles and games, home and garden decor, and a variety of paper goods. Tara is represented by Lilla Rogers Studio.

Sue Miano is a self-taught New England-based watercolor artist. She enjoys creating simple, colorful, and whimsical art that brings smiles to others and takes inspiration from the world around her.
