batiks
guest batik designer
Always eager to expand my art supply collection, I explored grinding earth pigments, mixing with binders and filling tiny seashells, acorn caps and half pans with quiet colors. Studio tables slowly filled with little experiments.
Later, when I pulled the fabrics for a new batik collection, the choices reflected the colors surrounding me, muted and moody. Editing was difficult and the reject pile was as eye-catching as the first pull, it begged to be used as its own separate collection. Meet my salon de refuses collection in Moody Mod Part 1, part 2 to come!
My Overflow specialty batiks are what they sound like, the result of an excess of many great coordinating options to compliment Moody Mod Part 1. Discover some of the possible color combinations in this little group of lines.
