COMPETITIONS Our Netball ethos at Wimbledon High is twofold, we encourage participation for all, catering for all abilities, as well as having a strong elite programme.

We offer 6 Teams (A-F) as well as a Development Squad, ensuring all students have the opportunity to train and play in fixtures.

Participation Competitions Entered: - U12 C, D and E Benenden Tournament - U12 D, E and F Borough Tournament - U12 B and C Priors Field Tournament - U12 A-F Mid-week and Saturday fixtures - Intra School and House Netball Tournaments

Elite Competitions Entered: - U12 A Surrey Qualifiers - U12 A GDST Tournament - U12 A Sisters in School Cup Matches We are currently the reigning U12 Surrey and U12 GDST Champions!

TRAINING SCHEDULE Autumn Term training and matches - 1 x Lunch time training for all - 1 x Morning practice for A-B - GDST and Cup Matches for the A Team Spring Term training and matches - Double Games Lesson in curriculum time for all - 1 x After School Training for all - 1 x Lunch time training for all - 1 x Morning practice for A-B - Mid-week and Saturday Fixtures for all - Various Tournaments for all - Surrey Qualifiers for the A Team Summer Term - We run a mixed Summer Netball League one lunch time.

TRIALS AND SELECTION We are a very strong Netball School and therefore positions in the higher teams are especially competitive. As a Department, we are not only looking for skill level but potential and application of feedback. Once Teams have been selected there is still room for movement as we continue to assess the students progress throughout the year.

In the Autumn Term, the A Team (and some B Team players) will be selected as they have elite matches starting in September.

Full Netball trials will take place in January when all girls will be placed in a team ready for the Netball Term.

EXPECTATIONS We expect all our Netballers to participate to the best of their ability. They should

they attend all training and matches link to their team. Most importantly, we want girls

arrive at training prepared and focused to learn. Our coaches will provide one to one and group feedback to support all girls to develop their skills. When students are selected into a team, it is expected that

to have fun and enjoy playing Netball with their friends.
