Stanley park provides a gathering place for residents and visitors in the area. To express the idea of community within the project, the duplex intertwines resulting in views towards both the park and the shared backyard. This gives both units equitable views and light exposure in both east and west directions. The vertical intertwining stairs interlock the two units as they climb up toward a shared rooftop terrace, emphasizing the communal aspect of the park below. Taking inspiration from the surrounding buildings, the duplex utilizes a mixture of red bricks as well as white bricks and vertical wooden slats running up the facade. These slats dictate the dwellers and pedestrians’ perspectives toward the outdoors, concealing or revealing certain parts of the unit. 13.

timberfever design build
The design originated from the necessities for the pepper plant to successfully grow. The plants need posts to support them as they grow larger, as well as diagonal elements to facilitate drainage. The form was created to mimic the flow of a meandering river cutting through to create riverbanks. This calls back to the way plant life begins at river edges and bodies of water prior to industrial agriculture and mono cultures. The form flows, curving to create an inviting space to enjoy dappled light and garden plants all around you.
