1748 Society: Creating a Friends Legacy

Lower School Renovation: Building for the Future
The transformation of our Lower School is well underway, creating vibrant, modern learning spaces for our youngest students.
Modular classrooms are in place and already buzzing with activity, while work continues on the full renovation of the building. When complete, the updated spaces will provide flexible classrooms, enhanced technology, and improved gathering areas to support collaboration and creativity.

Familiar Faces in New Roles!
Tina DiSabatino, Interim Director of Development
Tina DiSabatino now serves as the Interim Director of Development at Wilmington Friends School. Since joining Friends in 2014 as Director of Alumni Programs and Giving, she has built deep connections across the community. In 2021, she became Assistant Director of Development, overseeing alumni and parent
relations, the Annual Fund, events, and helping with major fundraising initiatives. In her new role as Interim Director of Development, she continues to bring her 15 years of fundraising and development experience at Quaker schools—having previously served at her alma mater, George School, and at Westtown School.
A proud graduate of The George Washington University, Tina lives in Wilmington with her husband, Kevin, and their two sons, both current WFS students. She also serves as Secretary on the Association of Fundraising Professionals (Brandywine Chapter) Board of Directors.
Laura Kirk Kurz ’97, Alumni Engagement Coordinator
Laura Kirk Kurz ’97 is beginning a new role as Alumni Engagement Coordinator as an integral part of the School’s communications team. Laura joined WFS in 2019, starting as special events coordinator and then moving into the communications associate role where she was responsible for
assisting with many of the School’s communications activities including newsletters, social media, and graphic design. In her new role, Laura will be implementing strategy to create, strengthen, and maintain connections with alumni to build a stronger community.
Laura previously served as the Director of Advancement at Radcliffe Creek School and the Director of Communications at St. Paul’s School.
Laura lives in Chadds Ford with her husband, Ken, and their children Charlie (WFS Class of 2027) and Clara (WFS Class of 2029), as well as a menagerie of cats and dogs.
