The Center of Disease Control has reported that the number of unintentional drownings in the United States is around 46 thousand and is a leading cause among child deaths today. That is why you will need to take extra precaution when you are a homeowner with a backyard pool. Once you’ve made the decision to educate your family and
neighbors on the pool rules, why not have an event that will make you look like you winning when it comes to both safety and entertainment. There are several places you can find swimming lessons, but we’re going to put a few ideas into your head as extra arsenal for you to combat this type of event from happening. Invite your neighbors and anyone who most likely will be using your pool. Plan for refreshments and perhaps a BBQ, to include everyone even dads! Google search instructors, but have them show the certification and that it’s updated. The other person you’ll need to have on your guest list is someone who can teach CPR. Break people down into groups and don’t forget to include the older kids. Have older kids learned CPR while the smaller, less experience kids learn to swim in the pool. Take turns over a few weekend lessons with both parents and children. Whatever you do, remember the goal of having these events are for safety in a community setting. Obviously locked fences, cameras, and alarms can heed the extra warning when someone is the pool area, but what about the child who drowns because of a lack of swimming lessons. By giving your child proper swimming lessons you will be helping them become a stronger swimmer and lessening their chances of having an accident. By involving your teenager’s to learn CPR, you’re taking extra precautions here and by mixing in these activities as a party will make everyone learn and enjoy!
