The 88th Oscar Awards with Salon Sora

This year’s 88th annual Oscar Awards was a celebration indeed with some of the world’s most influential talent that graced the beautiful Dolby Theater in Hollywood, California. This event is one of the best to see everyone in their best and most formal attire elegant dressing up the red carpet. The gowns, the suits and of course the hair and make-up. We’ve put together a snapshot that will give you some ideas for hair, but not necessarily for ceremonies.

One of the biggest observations made was the lack of style with many of our beautiful celebrities, particularly the starlets. It seemed the theme was super straight, with hair parted down the middle. Of course to wear this style it helps to have flawless skin, in which these people generally do.

One thing you have to remember is many of these folks look different each year for movies that they are working on. So their looks change constantly. Some better than others. One beautiful actress that is always stunning with the exception of her role in “Monster” was Charlize Theron. This year’s Oscars, she wore her hair in an Up-Doo swooped to the side. Charlize has very light baby fine hair, but a lot of it. She was a sheer classic.

Another woman of extreme class was the amazing Jennifer Garner. She was stunning on the red carpet with her low bun style. She seemed to almost be channeling one of the most historically well know ingénues like Lauren Bacall. Besides the fact that the woman is gorgeous she her hair and makeup were elegant and well put together. Of course she’s just as beautiful and we’re sure she’s going to do just fine without Ben.

Both Kate Winslet and Margo Robbie sported a Beachy, wavy look and gave a style that was semi-messy. Their stunning gowns helped to make them look like they were at the gay affair and not just crawling out of bed. The messy, middle part that has the waves is great for the beach but the Oscars? It seems that they would have done a little more with their look for this type of event. Either way the ladies are both gorgeous, messy hair and all.

The men were looking like well put together, but we must include best hair for the star studded awards was Ryan Seacrest and ‘Best Actor in a Leading Role’ Leonardo DiCaprio with their slicked back, lots of product but handsomely done hair styles. Every man should take notes here. If you choose this for your look, you’ll never go without a date to any party guaranteed! Good job guys! We just love Jennifer Lawrence, who wore her hair freshly bleached in a long bob and again the path went straight down the middle. Gotta love it, she’s always got such a fresh new way of wearing her hair whether long or short. Ahh to be that young again.

We’ve saved the best for last with the incredible, never a dull moment, the fabulous Lady Gaga. This woman never stops amazing, her audience with her sense of style. She was right up there with Greta Carbo and Audrey Hepburn. Gaga wore an outfit that she designed herself with a long train and in ivory white she was just ravishing. Let’s discuss her locks, shall we? Her hair parted to the side, the perfect length, just past the shoulder, with just the right amount of wave that gave it the perfect bounce she really did channel Oscars from the forties. Way to go Lady!

Watching the Oscars on television is the best because you can see everyone posing for the camera. This would be a lot different if you were there. Good luck catching a glimpse without having to camp out for three days prior to the event. So to re-cap middle parted hair, straight or beachy is the way to go for your gala’s and balls this year. But with some creativity even those with baby fine hair can look spectacular with a low bun or side up-do. The best thing you can wear to an event like the Oscar’s you’ll want to show off to everybody is confidence like Jennifer Garner and Leonardo DiCaprio. Magical people filling a night with enchantment and haute glamour. Can’t wait to see what happens next year!

These styles can easily be obtained and we’d love to help you for your next big event even if it’s a slight change. Come by and we’ll show you how you can look your best at Salon Sora.
