How to increase communication between schools and parents?
Improving communication between parents and school has been going on for years. Most parents need and want better communication; especially with all the changes going on inside the school and the ever-increasing threat of violence that seems to worsen every year.
1. Parents Want More Up-to-date News It is important to note that surveys have been conducted recently that show that parents want more information on the school their child is attending. One particular survey said that most parents want the following: email from the school, an online parent portal, a school e-newsletter, a school website and a voice messaging system. Most parents want and prefer electronic information. However, most parents are not interested in social media forms such as Twitter and Facebook.
2. What Parents Want Most parents want to know how their child (children) is doing in school. That has been the standard for decades. However, now they want more. Parents now want updates on their child’s progress or information on how their child can improve. They also want to be notified when their child’s performance is deteriorating.
