Willow Valley Communities

a forward-thinking continuum of care, centered on the human experience

Willow Valley Communities offers one of the region’s most comprehensive and progressive approaches to memory care, bringing together the trusted, personalized environment of Cedar Brook and the groundbreaking Marlin and Doris Thomas Memory Center. Together, they form a thoughtful continuum of Memory Support designed to meet individuals and families wherever they are on their journey with memory loss.

At Willow Valley Communities, care is never one-size-fits-all. Instead of asking Residents to adapt to rigid routines, we design environments, programs, and relationships around each person honoring their history, preferences, abilities, and identity. This person-first philosophy guides every aspect of Memory Support, from daily engagement to advanced clinical care.

Cedar Brook has long been recognized for its warm, secure, and reassuring setting, where familiarity, meaningful routines, and individualized attention help Residents feel grounded and supported. Purposefully designed spaces and engaging opportunities for connection foster dignity and a strong sense of community at every stage.

Expanding this commitment is the Marlin and Doris Thomas Memory Center, a stateof-the-art destination that is reshaping how dementia is viewed, experienced, and embraced. Purpose-built with 142 private rooms organized into intimate households, the Memory Center encourages residents to live by their natural rhythms — not institutional schedules — in an environment that truly feels like home. There are no alarms, or locked cabinets. Residents decide when to wake, what to eat, and how to spend their day, with support always close at hand.

Here, lifestyle and care are seamlessly integrated. Residents will explore, socialize, learn, and pursue the interests that give their days meaning, while benefiting from comprehensive, professional support. Through partnerships with leading organizations such as Penn Medicine’s Penn Memory Center and LG Health Physicians Alzheimer’s and Memory Care Program, Residents have access to early evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, clinical trials, and emerging therapies—all on campus.

Specialized physical, occupational, and speech therapy, Parkinson’s-focused programming, functional fitness classes, and innovative initiatives, such as the supportive social club, reinforce Willow Valley Communities’ belief in the power of connection. Research shows strong social engagement can delay cognitive decline, and Willow Valley intentionally creates opportunities for relationships to flourish across households, generations, and the wider community.

innovative, compassionate, person-directed care

Across both Cedar Brook and the Memory Center, carepartners are chosen for empathy first and trained extensively in dementia care. Consistent staffing builds trust, preserves dignity, and supports meaningful relationships—for residents and their loved ones alike. Families are embraced as partners, with education, mentoring, and end-of-life support that extends care beyond the individual.

At Willow Valley Communities, Memory Support is about preserving dignity, nurturing purpose, advancing brain health, and creating moments of joy and connection— every day.
