NOTE FROM YOUR PUBLISHER
New Year, Same Heart January invites us to move forward with clarity, curiosity, and a renewed appreciation for the community we get to call home.
“My wish for you is that this life becomes all that you want it to.” —RASCAL FLATTS
The moments that matter most. From left: our son Alex, his fiancée Taylor, my husband Frank, my mom Wanda, and our daughter Haley at Thanksgiving — grateful for time together.
Hello, Willowsford Community Residents, There’s something grounding about January in Willowsford. As holiday lights fade and routines gently settle back in, the new year greets us not with pressure for perfection, but with a deep breath. It’s a moment to pause, reflect, and ask not How much can I change? but What do I want to carry forward into 2026?

January 2026
This year, I’m leaning into the idea of simple, sustainable rhythms—tiny commitments that add up over time. It’s often those quiet, consistent steps that create the most meaningful shifts in our lives and throughout our community. This issue is our annual Look Back at 2025, filled with the stories, photos, celebrations, and moments that defined our year together. From neighborhood events to resident spotlights, youth contributions, and community traditions, it’s a reminder of the heart and spirit that make Willowsford truly special. As always, a heartfelt thank-you to our Preferred Partners. Your support allows us to share these stories month after month and continue strengthening connections throughout Willowsford. If you’ve had a great experience with one of our sponsors, we’d love to hear it—submit a testimonial through our Stroll Willowsford resource page at www.linktr.ee/strollwillowsford. Thank you for being part of Stroll Willowsford. Wishing you clarity, comfort, and purpose as we begin another year together. Here’s to a bright and meaningful 2026!

Stroll Willowsford | Board Update Dear Willowsford Residents, Welcome to 2026! It’s hard to believe we’ve turned into a brand new year, and we hope everyone enjoyed the holiday season! We enjoyed having as much of the community participate in our Winter Wonderland, our Holiday Cheer, and other events as everyone has – it’s always a great time of year for family and friends. As we mentioned during our November 2025 Board meeting, we have been actively working to replace our Community Manager, reviewing applicants and interviewing a group of them, to accomplish our goal: to find someone who can help us continue building on the strengths that make Willowsford one of the best places to live. We expect to announce that person shortly, and we look forward to working closely to ensure a smooth transition. In addition, as we also mentioned, during the past couple of months, the Board and management team have been working on potential plans and proposals for renovations and capital improvements, and want to hear from you. One of the mechanisms will be a Resident Survey released to gather your thoughts on whether and what the community supports the scope and financial investment such an endeavor would require. To ensure residents can make informed decisions, the survey will follow a series of detailed communications and gatherings where plans, costs, and benefits will be thoroughly discussed. Your participation is essential. The success of our previous survey demonstrated how valuable resident feedback is in shaping Willowsford’s future. Now, as we stand at the threshold of the next phase, your voice will be important in determining how and whether we bring these projects to life. Thank you for your continued engagement, insight, and enthusiasm for keeping Willowsford a vibrant, connected, and forward-looking community. Your Board of Directors

WILLOWSFORD HOA
Winter Weather & Snow Procedures BY SUSAN WALTERS INTERIM COMMUNITY MANAGER PHOTOS BY TOM LUSSIER
20
January 2026
As winter settles in, many of us look forward to the season’s cozy comforts— snow days, warm drinks, and time spent relaxing at home. But along with winter’s charm comes the need for extra care on our roads, sidewalks, and shared spaces. To help everyone stay safe and prepared, we’ve updated our winter reminders and snow procedures for the upcoming season. By staying informed and working together, we can ensure our community remains safe, accessible, and enjoyable throughout the colder months.
Resident Responsibilities
Driveways & Sidewalks Residents are responsible for clearing snow and ice from their driveways and the sidewalks directly adjacent to their homes. Timely removal helps prevent slippery conditions and ensures safe pedestrian access. Bus Stops Adjacent to Homes If a bus stop is located beside your property, you are responsible for keeping the area shoveled and safe for student access.
HOA Responsibilities Common Areas The Association maintains: • Common area sidewalks • Bus stops located in common areas • Loop lanes • Courtyard home areas • Village Greens • Parking lots serving community amenities
These shared spaces are cleared to ensure all residents can move safely throughout the community.
VDOT Responsibilities Most community roadways are maintained and plowed by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). To confirm which streets fall under VDOT maintenance, please visit the street responsibility list at WillowsfordLife.com > Resources > Snow Removal.
Snow Removal Procedures Plowing Schedule • Start Time: Plowing generally begins when snowfall reaches 2 inches and continues to accumulate, and/or no later than four hours after the snow has stopped. • Goal: Roads are cleared as efficiently as possible to maintain safe travel conditions for residents. • Sleet & Ice Conditions: During freezing rain, sleet, or refreezing events, crews will monitor road conditions. Sand or salt may be applied to problem areas if surfaces remain icy and temperatures are expected to stay below freezing.
Communication Sign up for “Notify Me” alerts on the community website to receive real-time updates about weather impacts, building closures, and trash service changes.
Trash & Recycling American Disposal Services notifies the Association of delays or cancellations due to inclement weather. Updates are shared via community e-blasts, social media, and the Willowsford website alert system.
Preparing for Winter Helpful Tips for Residents • Stock Up Early: Keep shovels, ice melt, and winter tools easily accessible before the first snowfall. • Be Mindful of Parking: Follow any temporary parking guidelines during snow events to help ensure plow trucks can do their job efficiently.
Supporting Our Community We encourage residents to lend a hand or check in on neighbors who may need assistance, especially those with limited mobility or health concerns.
Final Thoughts Understanding the shared responsibilities between residents, the Association, and VDOT helps keep our community safe and functioning smoothly throughout winter. And once the hard work is done, don’t forget to enjoy the season—bundle up and head over to the Sledding Hill in The Greens to create some fun winter memories!

WILLOWSFORD CONSERVANCY
CELEBRATIONS AND ASPIRATIONS! BY: CHARLES GRAYBEAL, CHAIR, WILLOWSFORD CONSERVANCY BOARD OF TRUSTEES
It’s another beautiful day here in Willowsford! The Willowsford Conservancy is an enormous undertaking. But it is so much more than just land, trails, streams, and the Farm. We are focused on engagement – neighbors working together, families enjoying our beautiful natural environments without needing to look at a phone screen, and sharing our blessings with our neighbors.
Join us in our CELEBRATIONS of just a few Conservancy accomplishments in 2025:
• Volunteers: Over 300 adults and youth volunteered over 3,000 hours with us – from picking up trash, to staffing an event, to washing eggs, among 22
January 2026
dozens of opportunities – we could not accomplish our work without them. • Programs and Events: Over 3,500 adults and youth attended over 50 different Conservancy programs, events, and activities. • The Willowsford Farm Produce Fund, in partnership with Dulles South Food Pantry, will provide fresh organic produce to help about 600 of our neighbors each month provide nutritious meals to their families. In 2025, you helped us raise about $15,000 for this wholesale produce effort. • Campgrounds and Amenity Rentals: Our camping and rental amenities saw 57 rentals, including many large group rentals for scouting troops and
family gatherings at Hidden Meadow. It’s wonderful to see our community enjoying time outdoors and making the most of Willowsford’s natural spaces. • 500 new chickens (hens, actually) raised from chicks now call Willowsford Farm their home, and their pasture-raised eggs continue to be one of our top sellers. • 530 trees planted behind Lotus Pond Place with funds from the Arbor Day Foundation, generously donated by Amazon. • Over 7,000 CSA shares from Willowsford Farm were distributed in 2025, and over 50,000 eggs were collected from our flocks.
• Over 125 fallen tree removal work orders (a new record) were completed this year by our Land Stewardship team. • Our bluebird monitoring program observed 67 bluebirds fledged this year, an increase from the 65 we saw fledge in 2024. Willowsford remains in the top 10 monitored Bluebird Box trails in Virginia. • Our third annual Let’s Talk Trash event brought together over 103 people who collected 743.49 lbs of trash and litter in our community. • More than 800 people attended our largest Harvest Market yet, with 40 vendors, including many young resident entrepreneurs.
We are always looking and planning ahead. Here are some examples of our 2026 ASPIRATIONS:
• Hopefully, receive approval of our application to be a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization. This will unlock many opportunities for additional revenue sources like grants, donations, sponsors, and more. • Raise $26,000 in 2026 (“26 in ‘26”) for the Willowsford Farm Produce Fund in partnership with DSFP. Watch for more fundraising events in 2026, specifically for this fund. • Continue our efforts to treat Tree of Heaven. With grant funding and invasive management funds from our budget, staff and volunteers will treat hundreds of trees. • Commence Allen Farm Pond repairs. This old farm pond has a leaking dam and needs other restorations. This is where the shovel meets the dirt in conservation. • Expand our Conservancy Education Opportunities on days that LCPS is off school and partner with LCPS to host students at the Farm and out in Nature. We’re always seeking adult volunteers to help with these programs. If interested, reach out to us at info@ WillowsfordConservancy.org! And thanks to you, our residents and neighbors, for your support in 2025. And, for your faith in the Conservancy, our Mission, our Trustees, and our incredible staff. 2025 was a transitional year for us, especially after the challenging budget process in late 2024, but 2025 was also a year of visionary thinking and committed action. New board members brought new energy, but also stability and creative ideas. Stay tuned for 2026. Great things are in the works. Together, we are building a better Willowsford.

YOGA SHALA A New Chapter of Belonging: Yoga Shala’s Transformation Under Jenny Moore WRITTEN BY STROLL WILLOWSFORD STAFF WRITER LIA HOBEL
26
January 2026
Yoga Shala is growing its community in Loudoun County by supporting local causes. In 2025, the studio sponsored the St. Paul VI Charity Golf Tournament, Creighton Farms Invitation for Children’s National Hospital and the PKU Foundation, Sprout Therapeutic Riding, and Corks for a Cause for LAWS— bringing wellness beyond the mat.
W HE N YOU STE P INTO YOG A SHAL A in Stone Ridge, there’s an immediate sense that this is more than just a yoga studio—it’s a sanctuary. That feeling is no accident. Under the new ownership of Jenny Moore, Yoga Shala has undergone a thoughtful transformation, one that places community, connection, and personal growth at its heart. “I want people to notice the moment they walk into Yoga Shala that they truly belong and have found a place of respite, connection, and ease,” says Jenny. “It can be so intimidating walking into a yoga studio, and we make it a point to be warm, inviting, and receptive to anyone who walks in, whether they are brand new to yoga or new to our studio. For our members that have been with us, I want them to feel fully connected to one another as well as to our teachers.” This welcoming energy is a deliberate shift from the studio’s previous atmosphere. “When I took over ownership of the studio, I wanted to change the culture from a gym environment where people come in, workout, leave, and go about their day to a sanctuary where traditional yoga meets modern life and is taught beyond the physical ‘workout’ which we mostly associate yoga to be,” Jenny explains. Today, Yoga Shala meets people where they are, fostering personal growth for everyone from beginners to devoted practitioners. The studio now offers Yoga Alliance-accredited trainings and workshops, and it’s not uncommon for students to progress in their practice, participate in trainings, and even become certified yoga teachers themselves. “By offering many paths to develop, our members feel fully supported and empowered,” she adds. For Jenny and her team, the impact of this transformation is felt in the stories
of those who walk through their doors. “Some people come to yoga because they want a workout or crave movement. Some come for the mental health benefits. Most come for the respite. A place to BE. A place where they don’t have to DO. A place where they can let out a sigh or cry or just BREATHE,” she reflects. The studio has become a trusted space for people navigating life’s transitions— relocation, illness, loss, and more. “Every soul that shares with us reminds me and my team… ‘this is exactly why we do this.’ People return to themselves and find joy, the joy that was there all along.” Behind the scenes, the sense of warmth and belonging that defines Yoga Shala starts with the team. “My team is well cared for and their health and wellness protected. They serve as the forefront and are often the first person one of our members or new guests’ interface with upon visiting the studio,” Jenny shares. She believes leadership sets the tone, ensuring that each teacher experiences the same advocacy, empathy, and encouragement that members receive. “Teaching yoga is a privilege, and those who get to teach understand this. At Yoga Shala, we practice what we teach, and that is to attend to our needs, mind, body, and soul… stress management is a lifestyle, and the result is a team that is committed. We work together, play together, and serve together.” Looking ahead, Jenny is excited about the studio’s future. “After two years of ownership and really focusing on creating systems, Yoga Shala operates fluidly, and we can focus on honing our craft. Being able to offer accredited Yoga Teacher Training programs allows us to nurture the growth of our members and essentially home-grow our teachers. As we do so, we will have more class
additions, variety in offerings, retreats, local and abroad!” Jenny notes that the evolution isn’t just on the mat — it’s in how the studio supports its members’ lifestyles. Yoga Shala has listened closely to feedback on pricing and membership options, creating flexible plans that honor every level of commitment. Whether someone needs the freedom to drop in when work or travel allows, a little accountability to stay consistent, or even a corporate wellness solution that boosts employee health, they’ve built an option that fits comfortably. Yoga Shala’s connection to the Willowsford neighborhood is also a point of pride. “It is important to us at Yoga Shala that Willowsford know all about our offerings and how we can support the full circle of life in this energetic and thriving town!” Jenny says. The studio’s mission is to serve everyone— from children and homemakers to professionals and grandparents—helping each person find their place of belonging. With a new owner at the helm, Yoga Shala is more than a place to practice yoga—it’s a community where everyone is welcome, supported, and empowered to grow. Come experience the sense of belonging for yourself.

SPONSOR SPOTLIGHT The Piano Home Group
THE PIANO HOME GROUP More Than Real Estate — A Story of Hope, Healing & Community BY RESIDENT VIKTORIJA PIANO, CEO THE PIANO HOME GROUP
Before anything else, I want you to know that wherever you are in your life today, you are not alone. My hope is that my story meets you with comfort, strength, or simply the reminder that you are still becoming. I came to this country as an immigrant, but life shaped me long before that journey began. I lost my father in war at thirteen. Overnight, my childhood ended. My mother — with grit, faith, and pure determination — worked nonstop to raise three children on barely $400 a month. I helped however I could: cleaning homes, ironing clothes, scrubbing jeans by hand until my knuckles burned. It was hard, but it was love. It was resilience. It became the foundation of who I am. No one is coming to do the work for you. If you want a better life, you must build it. If you want change, you must become it. Years later, life would test me again in ways I never expected. Last year, I faced breast cancer, surgeries, and months of recovery — a season heavy with fear and uncertainty. At the same time, I found myself walking through the emotional weight of a marriage ending. The kind of heartbreak that leaves you rebuilding not just your body, but your entire life. There were days I wasn’t sure I could do both — heal and hold everything together — but somehow grace carried me. I learned that sometimes strength isn’t loud; sometimes it’s simply refusing to give up. And I wasn’t alone. My incredible team stepped in, our clients continued to be cared for, and together we moved forward with purpose and heart. Through pain, I discovered community. Through loss, I discovered resilience. Through endings, I discovered who I was becoming. 30
January 2026
These experiences shaped not just who I am — but how I serve. The Piano Home Group was built from listening. Listening to people going through divorce, loss, and new beginnings. Listening to families overwhelmed by the selling process, while life is already Viktorija’s childhood heavy. I never want anyone home destroyed to feel alone in that. That’s why during war our team steps in and handles the details — the contractors, design decisions, staging, deadlines — so our clients can breathe. We care about homes, yes. But more importantly, we care about hearts. To my Willowsford community — thank you. You’ve trusted us with one of life’s biggest decisions, and in return, we’ve been fortunate to give back over $100,000 to our schools, foundations, youth, and local causes. You’ve helped us become more than a real estate team — you’ve made us a family. If my story finds you today, I hope it reminds you that you can walk through darkness and still become light. You can be broken and still whole. You can rise again and again. Every day is a gift, and I intend to cherish each one. Sisters that Sell Sneak Peek: A Hint of Something Beautiful Coming to the Willowsford Grove Michelle: There’s something quietly taking shape in the Grove, and we thought neighbors might enjoy an early whisper of what’s ahead. It sits along the circle, offering that added sense of privacy so many people appreciate in this part of the neighborhood. Deborah: Inside, the layout immediately sets a welcoming tone. It’s one of those floor plans that feels open, natural, and easy to settle into bright spaces, comfortable flow, and a design that simply works. Michelle: Here’s a little glimpse: just off the kitchen is a beautifully connected main level that includes a formal dining space, a cozy sitting area, and a striking family room with soaring two-story ceilings, coffered detailing, and oversized windows that fill the space with natural light. It’s the kind of room that makes you pause for a moment. Deborah: Upstairs, the primary bedroom offers something special its own private second-floor balcony, a quiet spot to step outside, take in the view, and enjoy a morning coffee. Michelle: And outside, the fully fenced, flat yard adds to the ease of everyday living perfect for relaxing, playing, or simply enjoying the openness. Deborah: What stands out most is how thoughtfully the home has been cared for. Every space feels inviting and well-loved. Michelle: We’re still finalizing timing, but we wanted to offer this soft, early hint of what’s coming soon. Deborah: For anyone in the Grove who’s been watching the neighborhood with curiosity, this is one to quietly keep an eye on as launch approaches.
