Georgian Bay is experiencing notably low water levels due to natural seasonal variations. These conditions can expose more shoreline and underwater hazards, which may affect beach size and boating navigation. Visitors are encouraged to plan ahead before heading out on the water.

When in a campground: Make a lightning safety plan. Be aware of your surroundings, look for shelter, and steer clear of tall objects. If you're staying in a tent or tenttrailer, the safest option is your hard-topped vehicle with the windows rolled up. Avoid touching metal inside the vehicle. Do not
take shelter in a privy as these structures arenot equipped to handle lightning strikes.
When you're on the water: If you're swimming, paddling, or boating, get to shore immediately and seek shelter. Water can be unpredictable and lightening can spread across the surface.
