Tower in Teheran-ro

During the spring semester of 2023, under the guidance of Professor Yongwoon Lee, an analysis was conducted for a high-rise office building located on Teheran-ro, Gangnam Seoul. The project aimed to explore Spanish architecture and incorporate its elements into the design, while also addressing the functional needs of a modern office environment.
Inspired by the complex buildings of Madrid from the late 1960s, the project focuses on incorporating a cantilever structure system. By decentralizing the core and creating a sunken plaza on the ground floor, the design optimizes space utilization and provides an engaging outdoor area for occupants.
The building’s façade features an efficient paneled design that articulates the entire structure. The integration of the cantilever system is highlighted, showcasing the complexity of the slab union with suspenders and adding a sense of verticality to the building. The use of light materials and textures enhances the openness of the building, creating a visually appealing and inviting atmosphere for office occupants.
The architectural project aims to create a high-rise office building that combines the influences of Spanish architecture with innovative structural systems. The design intends to provide a modern, functional, and visually striking workplace environment that promotes productivity and collaboration.
