2010 Season Review RE/MAX of New Jersey

The Thunder reached the playoffs for the fifth time in six seasons and eventually fell in the Eastern League Championship Series. The nearchampionship marked the end of an outstanding year that saw Major Leaguers pass through Trenton on rehabilitation assignments, many prospects earn promotions to higher levels, a ton of fun being had in the stands and an attendance increase of about 13,000 fans over 2009.

The 2010 season will be remembered by many as the year Andy Pettitte – a member of the NY Yankees “Core Four” – suited up for the Thunder. Pettitte dazzled a crowd of over 8,000 fans as he helped the Thunder win a first round playoff game. Yankees reliever Alfredo Aceves and MLB All-Star Lance Berkman also made rehab appearances in Trenton. Fans even got a chance to see some notable opponents in Trenton this year, as Mets starting pitcher John Maine rehabbed with the Binghamton Mets and Orlando “el Duque” Hernandez visited Waterfront Park with the Harrisburg Senators.

Yankee fans should be happy to know that some of New York’s top prospects are excelling and making their way to the Bronx. Third Baseman Brandon Laird dominated the Eastern League on his way to earning EL MVP honors – the first player in Thunder franchise history to earn the award. Pitchers David Phelps, DJ Mitchell, Hector Noesi and Lance Pendleton all impressed in Trenton and earned promotions to the Triple A level where they are now just a phone call away from New York.

Thunder management said all season that “Fun Happens Here” and it sure did! From Wrestling Night with Mick Foley to Italian Heritage Night with Joe Piscopo and Joe Pepitone to Football Kickoff Night with Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleaders, to Farmer Appreciation Night with a petting zoo outside the stadium - something new, different and fun was happening every night at Waterfront Park.

You can expect nothing less in 2011 as the Yankees’ Single A team won their championship and many of those players will be calling Trenton home.

Management is hard at work planning an exciting slate of promotions and it’s safe to say that Fun Happened Here in 2010 and it will again in 2011!

2010 SEASON – JUST THE FACTS The Thunder welcomed 384,028 fans in the 2010 regular season- an increase of 3% over 2009.

An additional 17,378 fans visited Waterfront Park for the playoffs!

Trenton averaged 5,408 fans per game during the season.

8,072 fans came out to see NY Yankee Pitcher Andy Pettitte in a rehab assignment - it is the 9th largest crowd in franchise history.

In 2010, there were 24 crowds over 6,000 fans with 11 of them over 7,000 (seating capacity is 6,150).

Over 7 million fans have been a part of Thunder baseball over 17 seasons.

The Thunder reached the EL Championship Series for the 3rd time in the last 4 years!

In addition the thunder promoted RE/mAX in its weekly email newsletter multiple times.

EVENT PROMOTION RE/MAX was featured in the Next Game Section of trentonthunder.com from May 26 Until June 3. after the game on June 3, Max Reader was included in the photo accompanying the game story.

RE/MAX was listed on the online promotional schedule starting in October 2009.
