Get one-on-one artistic and professional guidance from working artists and passionate educators, including PNCA faculty, visiting artists, and guest scholars. • Multidisciplinary approach. Students can choose to focus on a specific medium or incorporate a variety of mediums into their work. Our program supports painting, installation, performance, digital fabrication, writing, ceramics, photography, printmaking, sculpture, sound, video, and emerging media. • Experiential learning. ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT Claire Frances Spaulding MFA/MA ‘25
Claire Frances Spaulding is a multidisciplinary visual artist who blends environmental criticism into her craft. During her time at PNCA, she attended a studio residency in Vermont, participated in numerous Oregon and California group exhibitions, and attended conferences across the country. Upon graduation, she had a solo exhibition scheduled with Well Well Projects, a creative hub in Portland.

FACULTY HIGHLIGHTS Garrick Imatani
Co-Chair of Visual Studies Garrick Imatani is a visual artist whose work incorporates sculpture, installation, performance, and print. He has exhibited and performed at arts institutions around the world, from New York to Moscow. His work has earned him fellowships from the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture and Ucross Foundation, and grants from the Andy Warhol Foundation and Maine Arts Commission.
Emily Ginsburg Emily Ginsburg is an intermedia visual artist who has exhibited work nationally and internationally. Her work has earned grants from the Regional Arts and Culture Council and residencies at Siena Art Studio, Vermont Studio Center, and SACI in Florence.
