ALUMNI June 6 -10, 2019

Join us, Bearcat!

It’s Your Reunion! Dear Bearcat, It’s almost that time of year when we get to return to campus to reconnect with old friends and the university itself. The Alumni Board of Directors and I are delighted to invite you back to Willamette for your class reunion this June. The weekend kicks off Thursday with a panel discussion on blockchain technology and cryptocurrency and then picks up Friday with a Greek Life reception, a session about research that tested the Big Bang Theory, a Waller Hall archival exhibit and more. Friday evening programs include the Bearcat Happy Hour, followed by the Alumni Awards Presentation and Dinner and a summer concert. Matt Benjamin ’02, MBA’05 President Alumni Board of Directors

Saturday is filled with various events showcasing Willamette’s amazing programs and people, ending with the Saturday Night Experience under the Bearcat Tent on the Quad. Attending that big tent party last year reminded me how much fun it is to see so many familiar faces and catch up on important relationships. Of course, the highlight of the weekend will be your Class Reunion Dinner. Come early for the All-Class Reception and stay late for the Winning Hand Casino, Celebration and Dance.

These events present an opportunity to connect with Willamette friends, relive college memories and get a firsthand look at what is happening on campus today.”

What she found changed her thoughts, not only about criminal justice and prison policy, but also about the fundamentals of teaching, learning and the nature of the human condition itself. It is not that everything Michaux knew about prison was wrong. Instead, she says, “My knowledge of human possibility was just so limited.” Join Professor Michaux for a thoughtful conversation about what she learned in prison.

She analyzes the challenges and contradictions of student-generated intervention projects, in which the goal was to make black life matter on campus.

Reuniting While Giving Back As you join your classmates to mark a post-collegiate milestone, we hope you will be inspired to support the Willamette Annual Fund. Your gift to the annual fund will support the areas of greatest need, including scholarship support. While a student, you enjoyed an experience provided, in part, by those who came before you. Now, we ask you, as an alum, to continue the tradition of giving back by providing today’s scholars access to an exceptional Willamette education. Another wonderful way to honor your reunion milestone and form a lasting legacy is through the creation of a bequest, annuity or trust. If you have already included Willamette in your estate plans, please let us know so that we may welcome you as a member of the R.A. Booth Society. Invest in Willamette students by making your gift today!
