This year’s collection also features a greatly-expanded selection of magnificent original sculptures for impressive tabletop and bookshelf display.

It is highly satisfying to acquire a one-of-a-kind original creation, knowing that the artist personally applied brush strokes to the painting or hands and tools to the sculpture. Owning an original work of art means owning a very intimate and personal expression of the artist’s creative process.

I took a series of reference photos of this family group after a thunderstorm passed over so there were some interesting colors and reflections in the water but what really tickled me was the pugnacious looks and body language I was getting from the adults.”

“My love of labradors and fly fishing inspired me to do this sculpture. I often take my lab fishing with me and though she is like a “bull in a china shop”, there are few greater pleasures in life.”

“Getting the young of any species to eat, including humans, can be an interesting sight. Here we see a loon parent with a tasty minnow, however the chick seems to have either not realized that lunch is served or just uninterested. I would guess it’s the former.”

“On any given body of water you never know what surprises await you.

Here the obvious focal point is the loons however, when we look closer the two turtles are equally a delight to the eye.”

“The Grizzly is my favorite animal to paint. Usually a scene where it is at peace with its surrounding. This bear is in a huckleberry patch in the Northern Rockies in early autumn.”

“Luckily, I can view wood ducks very regularly in our local park’s lagoon. These rather exotic looking and colorful birds got me interested in painting them in an equally colorful autumn setting.”

We had a hunting camp this last fall and as I traveled out in the early morning, I came across the most beautiful scene, Huckleberry bushes in the sun in the edge of the deep timber. The dark timber is where a lot of the ‘big boys’ hang out. Pearly everlasting pines, everything came together for what I had been hoping for.”

When going back to the site to dig up copper I had in the studio, it inspired me to fire copper in a wood-burning stove to create brilliant colors.

I had witnessed the remains, the jewels were the first pieces that I used this dynamic fired copper to create the “Light from Within.”

“I was hunting mallards in waist-high weeds on an island out on the Mississippi River. Flocks of low flying bluebills suddenly began sweeping over the water and I was able to shoot a few of them. I appreciate the bright blue bills and iridescent black and purple heads of the bluebill – quite eye catching and unique!”
