Message from our Co-Founders Thank you for your ongoing support of Africa Fire Mission. AFM is able to continuing advancing our work because of your prayers, encouragement and generous support. 2021 brought opportunities to continue our work in Africa and Ukraine. We were able to take our first team to Malawi, send a container of firefighter PPE to Ukraine, and provide 20 instructors for the All Kenya Fire and EMS Symposium and Competition! We were grateful that we were able to be on the ground with our partners again. We are seeing transformation in lives of firefighters and in the fire service in the places that we work. Sometimes the work seems slow – there is so much to be done. Yet, as we take time to sit back to reflect, the impact is multiplying! Here are some highlights of the impact of 2021: AFM instructors trained 75% of the Fire Brigades in Malawi! • AFM provided over $1.2 million in PPE to Kirovohrad Oblast, Ukraine • An estimated 1.16 million people impacted with Community Fire Prevention knowledge through radio and news coverage in Kenya. • 9235 volunteer hours dedicated to the fire service in Africa and Ukraine. A value of over $262,000. •
In 2022, we remain committed to growing the capacity of the fire service in developing communities. We can’t wait to see what the impact will be on communities that need fire protection! Thank you for joining us as we serve.

“ We don’t accomplish any of this alone. We always have people helping us. That’s ultimately our whole goal at AFM. We support the firefighters in Africa so they can do this on their own, and we are there as their support.” Ed Collet – 2021 Instructor of the year

“ [The Kenyan Firefighters] were hungry to learn and open to thinking outside of the box. I found myself redirecting questions back to them to spur discussions, which helped getting the firefighters from different regions to begin collaborating. By the end of it, we were all fellow students learning from each other. I found that I probably learned more form the Kenyans than they learned from me, and that’s ok. “ Josh Bardwell - reflection on our training mission trip to Kenya
