FEATURE ON DINA JUNE Dina June is a New England based artist and designer who grew up in Los Angeles, California. She creates artwork from her studio in Hudson, Massachusetts, a bustling town with a growing art scene. With watercolor as her choice medium, she creates romantic, dreamlike imagery, and whimsical abstract patterns. “The unpredictable manner of watercolor is so interesting and exciting to work with,” she says. “It’s a great contrast to my graphic design pieces, which creates an enjoyable balance in my work life.” Dina has been creating art for as long as she can remember. “Coming from a family of artists, as well as growing up in a beautifully diverse city, my eyes were opened to the vast world of art and design. Being able to make a living as an artist is a proud accomplishment.” She is a professional Graphic Designer and has a degree in Psychology. “I have always been half artist, half designer. I love both hands-on organic art media as well as the clean-cut aspect of graphic design.” Her studio reflects this as well, half filled with art paper, canvases, paints and brushes; the other half occupied by her laptop and monitor screens. “I feel very fortunate to be able to pursue two different areas of art as a career.”
