EVOKE FIRMWARE UPDATE At Widex, our primary goal is to support both hearing healthcare professionals and hearing aid wearers as much as possible. As such, we are excited to provide updates to EVOKE hearing aids directly through the EVOKE app. This process will allow Widex to make enhancements to EVOKE hearing aids without the hearing aid wearer visiting the office. When the EVOKE app is updated through the Apple® Store or Google Play, the next time the EVOKE app is opened, the phone will show the message in Figure 1. Select “Start Update” and the app will then proceed to update the firmware in the EVOKE hearing aids, and the message in Figure 2 will appear. This process can take up to 10 minutes depending on the amount of data being updated. Keep the hearing aids in close proximity to the phone with fresh batteries to expedite the process. The hearing aids will still be on during the update process; however, the EVOKE app cannot be used until it is complete.

For your fitting convenience, you can also update the EVOKE firmware in the GPS Fitting software. When you open the Firmware update window, you can see the firmware version in the connected hearing aids, and you can see the LATEST firmware version available from COMPASS™. Depending on the version of the firmware in the hearing aids, you have different options: If you should update the HA firmware, you will see an Update button. If the HA firmware matches the firmware in COMPASS, you will see a Reinstall button. If the HA firmware is newer than the firmware in COMPASS, we recommend that you check if a newer version of COMPASS is available, so that you can install it. Note: the EVOKE app will always have the most recent version of EVOKE firmware. Click the relevant button, and a Hearing Aid Firmware Update dialogue box provides information about the EVOKE firmware version that is being installed and the progress.
