COMPASS GPS FITTING QUICK GUIDE TM

CONNECT AND INITIAL SETUP 1. Select connect to detect your EVOKE hearing aids using the easy PRO LINKTM wireless programmer.

2. Once connected, identify right and left ear by presenting the musical tone to the hearing aid wearer.

TIP: If the devices have been previously connected, confirm what you are seeing on the screen is marked correctly by selecting the button for right and left.

3. Once the aids are connected, select the appropriate receiver and ear-tip options from the drop-down menus.

COMPASS GPS FITTING QUICK GUIDE 4. When aids are selected and connected for the first time you will be prompted to select the experience level of the hearing aid wearer.

Select Inexperienced for hearing aid wearers who have worn hearing aids for one year or less.

Select Experienced for hearing aid wearers who have worn hearing aids for more than one year.

This allows you to meet the hearing aid wearer where they are with their hearing needs.

5. An audiogram-based fitting is a great place to start for an office demonstration or if time is limited.

TIP: The Widex SoundTracker Graphic provides confidence for the hearing aid fitter by displaying a real time graph of the current fitting showing you gain across the frequency range.

Audibility is shown via the shaded areas of the colored bars rising above the hearing loss black line.

FEEDBACK MANAGER TEST 6. The Widex Feedback test ensures the wearer’s comfort while still optimizing speech audibility and preserving soft sounds. Wearers need to sit quietly during the test.

The Widex Feedback test provides information about audibility by measuring how the hearing aid fits in the patient’s ear, including vent length and diameter, ear canal volume, leakage around the eartip, and average tympanic membrane mobility. This exclusive feature optimizes your fitting for each ear individually.

SENSOGRAM 7. The Sensogram provides a precise in-situ testing measurement option. To perform a Sensogram, simply highlight each frequency and present the tone as you would for a hearing test. Monitor room noise to maintain testing accuracy.

BONUS: In-situ testing provides the most accurate and comfortable individualized hearing aid fitting.

ADAPTATION 8. The Widex Adaptation manager offers the fitter and hearing aid wearer an easy way to adjust to their new hearing aids.

This feature can be set to automatically adjust over the selected period of time or managed manually by the Hearing Healthcare Professional.

NOTE: The Adaptation Manager defaults to off. If you choose to utilize the Adaptation Manager, be sure to identify your settings prior to ending your session.

COMPASS GPS FITTING QUICK GUIDE FINE TUNING 9. Fine tuning is easy and flexible for all technology levels of EVOKE (440, 330, 220, 110). From selecting the wearer’s experience level for the perfect fitting profile to Widex Sound Class Technology, Widex Compass GPS software offers the Hearing Healthcare Professional several ways to fine tune device settings accurately.

3 Flexible ways to fine tune: 1) Sound classes that the Hearing Healthcare Professional can adjust for audibility and comfort without adjusting overall gain 2) Customized automatic and manual programs that focus on comfort or speech audibility in noisy settings 3) Real-Life Insights, data on personal program use, found in the Data Logging section, that can be used to personalize both counseling and follow up.

END SESSION 10. Click End Session to complete your fitting.

FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE: Widex hearing aids save data in realtime, which allows for a seamless experience for both you and the hearing aid wearer. To save the fitting to your database, select End Session at the top right portion of your screen.
