GET THE MOST OUT OF YOUR Z-POWERED RECHARGEABLE HEARING AIDS
Congratulations on taking the next step to improving your life with your New Widex Hearing Devices! Follow this simple guide for how to use your ZPower rechargeable batteries. For a complete maintenance guide, visit widex.com/rechargeable-maintenance.
Fully charge your batteries each day When you’re not using your hearing aids, we recommend that you place them in the charger. It’s important to charge them every day so that the batteries don’t fully deplete. A fully depleted battery will take longer to charge, and so it may not be fully charged in time for the next time you use it. When charging, check that the two green LED lights on the charger stations are blinking. Note that it can take up to 15 seconds before the charger has detected the hearing aids. Charging can take up to seven hours. Once done, the indicator lights turn from blinking green to constant green.
Do not reboot your hearing aids after a low-battery warning If you get the low-battery warning, or if your hearing aids shut down because of low power, do not open and close the battery door to try and reboot the hearing aids. Rebooting the hearing aids after a low-battery warning can cause the batteries to overdischarge, which in turn can lead to long term reduction of battery performance.
How to store your batteries long-term If the batteries are not going to be used for more than two weeks, remove them from the hearing aids. Remember to store them somewhere they don’t touch each other or other metal parts. If you leave the battery door open for long-term storage instead of putting the batteries away, the batteries will continue to deplete – even though the hearing aids are turned off. Therefore, we do not recommend leaving the battery doors open for more than three hours.
Keep your hearing aids in the charger when not in use If the hearing aids are not being used, we recommend leaving them in the charger. Do not unplug the charger while the hearing aids are inserted – this will turn on the hearing aids and discharge the batteries.
Clean your hearing aids and your charger To keep your hearing aids working as they should, make sure your hearing aids and your charger are clean. Use a soft tissue to remove moisture or dirt from the hearing aids, the batteries and the charger. The soft brush that comes with your hearing aids can also be used to remove debris from the charging wells. Do not use alcohol or other chemical substances.
Use a drying kit to ensure best performance and reliability If you use your hearing aids in hot and humid environments or expose them to significant temperature changes – like when you go from the freezing outside to the warm inside – we recommend that you use UV-light dryer system, PerfectDry Lux for ZPower to keep them moisture-free and dry. Conveniently charge your devices while cleaning and drying all in one! Ask your local Widex hearing care provider for more information.
