Here at DTC84 (tennis club in Düsseldorf), we decided to enhance the area at the back of the site this year. A children’s playground for our younger guests naturally had to be part of this.

We went on the Internet to search for suitable playground equipment. As the playground was financed through donations, it was important to us that the price-performance ratio was right (equipment for the public sector is much more expensive than that for private use) and that we had as wide a selection as possible that was also a good fit for our club in terms of appearance.

We then came across the company Wickey, where a wide range of climbing frames and equipment awaited us. We chose a beautiful climbing frame with slide, a swing, a rocker and a tumble bar. The colours blue and yellow go well with our club logo and the playground simply looks fantastic all assembled.

What makes our wood special?

Our wood, a natural and renewable resource, offers both timeless beauty and exceptional durability outdoors. The growth of each tree brings special features such as knots and grain with it, making each piece unique and further enhancing the charm of our playground equipment.

Where does our wood come from?

Our playground equipment is mainly made from natural pine and spruce from sustainably managed forests. We obtain the majority of our wood from domestic forests in the south-east of Germany, so the wood comes from European soil and not from tropical forests.

Why impregnated wood?

Wickey has deliberately chosen pressure-impregnated wood, which is used in the professional and public sector due to its many advantages. The impregnation ensures an especially long service life outdoors and is biologically harmless for humans, animals and plants.
