Appt. Locations: Sign up on the first floor of the RSC. Appts. will take place on the 2nd floor. Incoming freshmen only - definitely going to be a Shocker? Sign up for a 30-minute group meeting with your advisor in your academic college on the first floor of the RSC. Your appt. will be held in a room on the 2nd floor of the RSC. Remember - you’re not enrolling in classes - just learning what your first semester might look like!

Personal Branding Lessons from Star Athletes

Athletes such as Caitlin Clark and Cristiano Ronaldo possess some of the most valuable personal brands in the world. Building on their examples, this interactive session examines the principles of personal branding. Attendees will take steps to define their personal brand and develop a personal branding statement.

The Economics of TikTok, Sneakers, and Scarcity

Why do limited sneaker drops sell out instantly? Why do some TikTok trends explode overnight while others disappear? Students will explore how scarcity, incentives, and consumer behavior shape markets in the digital age. Through interactive examples and quick market experiments, participants will see how economic principles explain everything from viral trends to resale prices. By the end, you’ll start to see the hidden economics behind many of the decisions and trends that shape everyday life.

Motivation Isn’t a Feeling: The Science of Leading and Inspiring Others

What if most of what people believe about motivation is wrong? In this class, we’ll challenge common myths, explore whose job motivation really is, and introduce a simple model that anyone can use to drive dramatically higher performance. You’ll leave with practical insights you can apply right away—in school, work, and life—and a glimpse of the engaging, real-world learning students experience in our management classes.

Join this ink-redible session at Wichita State’s new Book Technologies Lab to study the early history of printing. Set a 17th-century recipe for ink in metal type to print on our letterpress. Learn about the common ingredients in early modern ink and the historical process of printing in this hands-on lesson about the power of the printed word.

Students who completed their enrollment questionnaire by March 27 or at W-S-YOU will receive a Future Shocker yard sign! All students will receive a Wichita State gift in exchange for their evaluation.

After you leave W-S-YOU today, continue to follow the steps below to help you become an official Shocker.

Incoming freshmen: Go to wichita.edu/seniorsteps. Transfer students: Go to wichita.edu/transfersteps.

Set up your myWSU account. You will need your myWSU ID to log in. If you have trouble logging in, contact the Help Desk at (316) 978-4357 or helpdesk@wichita.edu.

Apply for housing. If you plan to live on campus and have not submitted your housing application, this is your reminder to finish it up. Questions for Housing can be directed to (316) 978-3693 or housing@wichita.edu

Review and accept financial aid opportunities. Log in to your myWSU account to formally accept financial aid offers. Questions can go to (316) 978-3430 or finaid@wichita.edu.

Register for Orientation and complete your enrollment questionnaire.

Visit wichita.edu/orientation or the list in your packet to see orientation options. Freshmen - your questionnaire is sent to a first year advisor who will be in touch with you about your first semester classes. Your advisor will help you finalize your schedule.

Transfers - register for orientation and then contact your advising office to schedule an appointment.

Submit transcripts.

Freshmen - submit an official high school transcript with your graduation date. Transfers - once you’ve completed all classes, send us a copy. Transcripts can be mailed to Wichita State Admissions or official electronic transcripts can be sent to admissions@wichita.edu
