African-American History Museum Receives $10M Sponsors Open Wallets for Debut By Stacy M. Brown WI Senior Writer Bank of America, Kaiser Permanente, Prudential Financial Inc., Target and Toyota have each provided $2 million in sponsorships to support the grand opening and inaugural events of the new Smithsonian's National Museum of African American History and Culture. Each company is a founding donor of the museum and their sponsorship not only includes support for the grand opening, but officials said it will would provide assistance for other needs they museum may encounter.

Reverend Barber Leads Moral Revolution Tour to DC
Orange Begins Post-Council Gig at Chamber New D.C. Chamber of Commerce CEO Vincent Orange, fresh off a contentious exit from the city council, recently detailed his agenda for his first 100 days in office. Officially assuming his role on Aug.15, replacing resigned CEO Harry Wingo and former CEO interim Margaret Singleton, Orange outlined his immediate initiatives.w "I intend to execute an assessment of the chamber, looking at personnel, making sure we have the right power in order to move this organization forward and to provide a return on any investments for our memberships," he said. "At the end of day, we

"Now, their support as sponsors will enable the museum to host a public celebration that reflects the historic significance of this event: the opening of the first national museum dedicated to the African-American experience." Bank of America's $2 million sponsorship is far from the company's only gift to the museum. Previously, the bank had announced the donation of historic images from its corporate art collection to the museum that featured 61 black-and-white photographs by Jeanne Moutoussamy-Ashe that also includes Daufuskie Island, a unique national land-

Civil rights leader and organizer of the Moral Monday’s protests in North Carolina took to the pulpit in two churches in D.C. last Sunday to promote the Revival for a Moral Revolution of Values. Early Sunday morning Reverend William J. Barber II spoke to a welcoming crowd at Shiloh Baptist Church in Northwest. His fiery sermon was aimed at provoking parishioners to join a national movement to protect democracy in America. Later that day, more than 50 members of the clergy representing a broad spectrum of denominations and faiths joined hundreds of supporters who packed the sanctuary, the overflow room and spilled out onto the surrounding church
